Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in communications, including at least 5 years in leadership roles in complex, global organization.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing integrated communications strategies across multiple channels.
  • Experience in media relations, executive communications, and crisis management at a global scale.
  • Strong understanding of digital and social media trends and platforms.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences.
  • Cross-cultural communication skills and experience working with diverse stakeholders across geographies.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the global communications and PR strategy.
  • Serve as a senior advisor to executive leadership.
  • Guide and empower managers responsible for internal and external communications.
  • Build, develop, and inspire a high-performing global team.
  • Establish measures of success for communications impact.
  • Provide strategic direction for executive, Board, and system-wide communications.
  • Ensure organizational priorities are clearly and consistently communicated across the global network and with donors/key external stakeholders.
  • Shape the content and messaging strategy for global team meetings and leadership engagements.
  • Set the strategy for external positioning, media engagement, and brand visibility, including strategy and support for executive engagement and visibility.
  • Strengthen the organization’s presence across media channels, including social and digital platforms.
  • Build and steward relationships with global media and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee crisis communications strategy and preparedness.
  • Advise leadership on sensitive issues and high-stakes situations.
  • Ensure the organization responds effectively to protect and enhance reputation.
  • Partner with fundraising and program teams to align communications with organizational goals as integrated annually in a master case for support as well as other communications.
