About The Position

Performance Improvement/Risk Management Director Seven Hills Hospital is a growing, private, 134-bed psychiatric hospital that is dedicated to providing high-quality care for adults, geriatrics, and adolescents (ages 5-17) who are suffering from behavioral health and chemical dependency issues. Our patients recover at our new, state-of-the art medical facility in the Seven Hills area of Henderson, Nevada. Henderson is one of the fastest growing cities in the US and is located just 7 miles from the famed Las Vegas Strip and a couple of miles from beautiful Lake Mead. Join the team of highly dedicated mental health professionals. We are presently looking for a Full Time Director of Performance Improvement/Risk Management who will report directly to the CEO. Responsibilities include continuous and systematic measurement, assessment and improvement of its systems and to identify, communicate, and take action on potential and actual exposures to avoid, minimize, assume, or transfer risk. In addition, s/he will track incidents to identify trends and evaluate the effectiveness of corrective measures; identify and closely monitor problem prone and high-risk areas to maintain the safety of patients, family members, visitors, and staff; and accumulate data and prepare reports to establish protocol for said meeting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a clinical healthcare field, or a bachelor's degree in risk management, business, finance, or a related field.
  • At least Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or healthcare field from an accredited school
  • Active RN license or current license in respected field from State of Nevada
  • Five years’ experience in healthcare in related function, preferably in psychiatric field
  • Two years’ supervisory or management experience.

  • Master's degree in healthcare field, nursing, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support risk management activities.
  • Request problem reports/incident reports and any follow-up information necessary.
  • Perform or assign the investigation of problems.
  • Prioritize problems based upon the degree of impact on patient care services, program management, and facility management.
  • Conduct review for facility wide problems and trends.
  • Investigate, plan, and implement corrective action.
  • Assess the appropriateness and effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Assure communication between departments, services and programs when problems or opportunities to improve patient care involve more than one department.
  • Integrate the findings of all risk management activities, as appropriate, with the clinical services program where there are opportunities to improve the quality of patient care.
  • Accurately perform chart audits and closed chart reviews.
  • Tally results from concurrent chart reviews, nursing and physician references.
  • Scan patient satisfaction surveys, review data and complete monthly report.
  • Compute monthly compliance rates on all audits (falls, med errors, elopements, chart reviews and others).
  • Participate in the development of the policies and procedures.
  • Conducts P.I. weekly walk thru inspections and records data.
  • Prepare and coordinate compliance activities for State, CMS and The Joint Commission
