About The Position

Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. is seeking a Director, Risk, Assurance, Governance & Control in New York, New York to examine, analyze, and interpret accounting/financial records. Assist in the assurance work pursuant to the Sarbanes Oxley 404 (SOX) regulation. Assess the design adequacy and operating effectiveness of controls. Utilize leading-edge technologies and advanced data analytics to achieve high quality results and enhance assurance work. Analyze complex issues and develop a point of view on key trends and impacts to the control environment. Utilize data and insights to inform conclusions and support decision making. Share findings and recommendation to management, determine root causes, and provide insights to stakeholders. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field of study
  • Requires five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as an Associate, Senior Associate, Enterprise Risk, or a closely related occupation
  • Requires five (5) years of experience with the following skills: Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) Act including Section 404a and 404b, Section 302, Section 906, and Section 409;
  • SOX compliance program lifecycle including risk assessment and scoping, control documentation and design, control testing and operating effectiveness, remediation and reporting, and providing control improvements, enhancements, and recommendations;
  • SOX controls including entity level control (ELC), business processes, IT generation controls (ITGC), and use of third party providers, service centers and sub-consolidations;
  • main SOX business processes including revenue, HR and payroll, treasury, tax, financial close and reporting, fixed assets and property, plant, and equipment (PPE), payables, inventory, and goodwill;
  • Committee of Sponsoring Organizations (COSO) internal control framework;
  • Financial Reporting Standards including US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) standards, SEC Reporting, and regulatory filing and disclosure controls;
  • information produced by entity (IPE) including definition, requirements, and importance;
  • System and Organization Controls (SOC) report including definition, types, and Complementary User Entity Controls and Bridge Letter;
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems including SAP, Oracle, and ADP;
  • Audit Management Software including AuditBoard and Workiva;
  • data tools including Power BI, Power Apps, Alteryx, UiPath, and Microsoft CoPilot; and
  • Microsoft Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
