About The Position

The Director, Revenue Cycle is a key leader within our organization, responsible for ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of our collections process. This role involves providing expertise and leadership in overseeing RCM processes, ensuring accurate reporting, and driving the successful adoption and implementation of new standards and practices. The Director will focus on managing and improving the revenue cycle, including enhancing operational policies and procedures, ensuring compliance, and maintaining a strong internal control environment. This position plays a critical role in overseeing the monthly revenue processes, developing and refining operational systems, and ensuring that all revenue-related activities align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. The candidate should have expertise in managing outsourced vendors and leading both internal and external team members. Process improvement and policy creation will be a key focus of the role and the desired candidate will need a strong ability to critically think and execute on a plan. Management of a team of manager/supervisors and individual contributors will also be required with a strong ability to strategically align personnel where they can be the most successful. Key areas of focus will be to help evaluate and establish key productivity metrics within the various areas of the RCM such as Billing, AR Follow-up, Denial Review, Payment Integrity/Underpayment, and Payment posting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, or Certificate from College or Technical School or Equivalent Experience required.
  • CPA license required.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of Revenue Cycle Management experience and knowledgeable about key areas within RCM (Authorization, Coding, and Billing).
  • Minimum 5 years of leading and managing RCM team members to include billing, follow-up, cash collections, and cash posting functions.
  • Proven ability and experience in building, implementing, and scaling processes, projects, and programs from the ground up.
  • Highly organized: must be able to stay personally organized while managing the priorities of the executive and the team.
  • Experience pulling, compiling, and reporting on various types of critical data via multiple different tools to a variety of audiences, strong ability to synthesize data & analytics.
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand the business and then advise team on cross functional impacts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations and improve processes to achieve desired KPI targets of AR Days, Net Collection Rate, Denial Rate, and Bad Debt.
  • Oversee the productivity and success of revenue cycle operations internally and externally.
  • Manage day-to-day benchmarks for revenue cycle staff, including organizing training, education, and ongoing monitoring of productivity and quality.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Revenue Cycle Services to ensure accurate revenue forecasting and EBITDA targets are achieved.
  • Coordinate revenue cycle services to ensure delivery in accordance with operational support, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison with clients, producing monthly reports, reviewing data during meetings, monitoring denied claims, analyzing trends, and updating clients on future regulatory changes.
  • Work with the Training Specialist to develop and implement training programs.
  • Generate new ideas and approaches to advance services and programs within the division.
  • Ensure and promote the confidentiality of client and business proprietary, privileged information.
  • Assist with specific product requirements for current and future products.
