Your job is more than a job General Duties 1. Leadership & Strategic Oversight Provide strategic direction and oversight for retail and specialty pharmacy operations across all corporate locations. Develop and execute short- and long-term goals aligned with organizational and system pharmacy objectives. Lead efforts to expand the retail pharmacy footprint and identify new growth opportunities. Establish and monitor performance metrics to ensure excellence in service, safety, compliance, and financial outcomes. Lead and mentor pharmacy managers and staff to foster a collaborative, high-performing culture. 2. Operational Excellence Oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensuring efficient workflow, compliance with all regulations, and exceptional patient service. Implement and standardize policies, procedures, and best practices across all retail locations. Coordinate staffing models to ensure appropriate coverage and optimal use of personnel. Ensure all locations maintain high standards of accuracy, safety, and professionalism. 3. Financial Performance & Growth Develop and manage operational budgets, financial forecasts, and productivity benchmarks. Monitor revenue, expenses, and profitability for all pharmacy sites. Identify and execute opportunities for business growth, prescription capture, and service line expansion. Partner with finance and contracting teams to ensure accurate reimbursement, cost control, and profitability. Support strategic planning for expansion of new retail or specialty pharmacy locations. 4. Collaboration & Integration Work collaboratively with the Director of 340B and System Director of Clinical Operations to align retail pharmacy operations with clinical services and system initiatives. Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to enhance patient access, streamline workflows, and improve medication adherence. Coordinate with purchasing, compliance, and clinical teams to ensure efficient and integrated operations. 5. Compliance & Quality Assurance Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and accreditation standards. Implement and monitor quality assurance, risk management, and patient safety programs. Serve as liaison with regulatory agencies and participate in inspections or audits as required. Promote continuous improvement and adoption of best practices in retail and specialty pharmacy operations. Experience Qualifications Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive pharmacy leadership experience in retail, ambulatory, or specialty pharmacy settings. Demonstrated success in managing multi-site pharmacy operations. Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations, accreditation requirements, and financial management principles. Experience leading operational growth or expansion initiatives preferred. Education Qualifications Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required; Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred. Licenses and Certifications Current, unrestricted Pharmacist license in the state of practice. Eligible for or maintains status as Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC).
