Within the Enterprise Security and Resilience Office (ESRO) we are the first-line defense against securing the largest healthcare company in the world against security threats. If you are located in MN or DC, you will have the flexibility to work remotely as you take on some tough challenges.  This position follows a hybrid schedule with four in-office days per week. Primary Responsibilities: This position serves as a leader on the Global Crisis Management (GCM) team, responsible for the Training & Exercise, After-Action Review (AAR), and the Member & Clinical Disaster Support (MCDS) programs. The incumbent will be responsible for the continued growth and oversight of the GCM training and exercise program, which is focused on training and exercising GCM partners on response plans. The AAR program ensures a focus on continuous improvement, learning and enhancing response through consistent assessment of event actions. Incumbent will be responsible for program management and expansion. The MCDS program is an extension of the All-Hazards GCM response plan and assists in coordinating support for members and patients impacted by severe weather and other events that impede access to care. The GCM role focuses on communication and coordination with clinical, operations, and regulatory partners across the enterprise. Incumbent is responsible for program oversight and further development of process and communications in coordination with enterprise clinical leadership. As a leader on the Global Crisis Management team, incumbent will be expected to assume various responsibilities during events and crises impacting the enterprise. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in the management of an exercise program, to include development, facilitation, and assessment of tabletop, functional and full-scale exercises
  • 5+ years of experience with After-Action Review development, facilitation, reporting, and remediation compliance
  • 5+ years of progressive people leader experience
  • 3+ years of experience participating in event response and recovery activities
  • 3+ years of experience interfacing with senior executives
  • Solid communication: ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely
  • Problem-solving: identify and solve complex problems in high-pressure situations; ability to think critically and creatively to come up with practical solutions.
  • Decision-making: weigh the pros and cons of different options and quickly make confident decisions; ability to make decisions with limited information
  • Listening and synthesis: efficiently seek out and understand different perspectives; use that information to make better decisions.
  • Leadership: take command in high-stress situations; inspire and motivate the team, while also providing clear guidance and direction; prioritize tasks based on their urgency

Responsibilities

  • Oversight: Oversees all aspects of assigned programs, sets program direction, maintains understanding of program progress, and identifies and communicates barriers and gaps impacting the program
  • Training, Exercise and After-Action development: Working with GCM team members, ESRO and Enterprise partners, continue building a comprehensive training, exercise, and after-action program to ensure the enterprise is continually preparing, testing, and enhancing plans and team readiness. Ensure multi-year training and exercise calendar is maintained, and develop, facilitate, and document exercises for ESRO plans within the scope of the program. Continually assess ways to enhance and challenge teams to foster and enhance readiness.
  • MCDS: Understands the impacts natural weather events have on populations and communities served by UHG and what resources may be necessary to support these populations impacted by disasters. Works with partner teams to ensure resources are made available for impacted populations in line with voluntary and regulatory requirements
  • Team Alignment: Ensures that partner teams within and outside of ESRO are aligned to training and exercise plans. Identifies and works to resolve conflicts and other issues that may impede program goals
  • As a leader on the Global Crisis Management team, incumbent will be part of all-hazards response. Role will require off-hour support during event and crisis response.
