About The Position

At SIXT, the Director of Rental Operations is a strategic leader responsible for driving performance across the region. This high-impact role involves leading business-critical initiatives, partnering with underperforming locations, and developing the leadership pipeline. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in operations, talent development, and strategic execution, contributing to a team that is transforming mobility daily. The position offers a salary of $130,000 - $180,000 plus a bonus of $90,000. SIXT is a globally leading mobility service provider with a revenue of €4.00 billion and around 9,000 employees worldwide, offering a platform that combines car rental, car sharing, taxi/ride/chauffeur services, and car subscriptions. The company operates in over 110 countries with 2,000 rental stations, prioritizing top-tier customer experience and outstanding customer service, and believes in entrepreneurship and long-term stability.

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree with at least 2 or 3 years of experience in sales and customer service, plus 2 years in a supervisory role (or 5 years' work experience without a degree, including 2 years as a manager in car rental).
  • Possess good supervisory skills.
  • Possess strong communication skills.
  • Have exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • Be highly organized.
  • Have excellent customer service skills.
  • Be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Have a valid driver's license with a clean record.
  • Can work 40 + hours per week, including day/evening shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue growth by improving IRPD performance, optimizing fleet utilization, and managing non-revenue operations efficiently.
  • Lead and develop high-performing teams by coaching managers, addressing performance gaps, and building a strong leadership pipeline.
  • Deliver a premium customer experience by ensuring service excellence, handling escalations, and maintaining high standards across all locations.
  • Execute operational excellence by managing the Daily Game Plan, ensuring PCI compliance, and monitoring key regional KPIs.
  • Lead process improvements and support regional growth by identifying underperformance and implementing strategic solutions.
  • Oversee risk and security by enforcing fraud prevention, improving labor efficiency, and upholding operational standards
