About The Position

This role within Fortrea Consulting is for an experienced consultant and researcher. The primary focus is on building client trust through excellent project delivery across various consulting areas, including clinical development, real-world evidence (RWE), and health economics and outcomes research (HEOR). The goal is to assist clients in planning, generating, and demonstrating value throughout their product's lifecycle. Key responsibilities involve overseeing biostatistical activities in client engagements, encompassing research, planning, analysis, synthesis, and communication. Additionally, the Director RWE Biostatistician will actively contribute to internal process improvement initiatives and business development efforts, such as proposal development, budgeting for biostatistical activities, and participating in bid defenses and capabilities presentations.

Requirements

  • Graduate-level degree in discipline-relevant area (e.g., economics/statistics/data science, epidemiology, health economics, pharmacy, medical); Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience and successful project outcomes in lieu of educational requirements
  • Demonstrated scientific and technical expertise in biostatistics
  • Demonstrated success managing people and leading project teams
  • Successfully maintained client relationships
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills
  • Team player mentality
  • At least 8 years of experience in biostatistics
  • At least 6 years of experience managing people and leading project teams

  • Doctoral level degree may be preferred, with scientific or technical knowledge and know-how in line with client expectations
  • Strong business development, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Able to challenge conventional thinking to solve client issues and develop solutions
  • Orientated towards working across related disciplines and teams to achieve client objectives
  • Applied biostatistics to RWE and/or HEOR disciplines
  • Solid understanding of CDISC standards
  • SAS programming experience

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the pursuit of new and repeat business
  • Strengthening key client relationships
  • Leading the scoping and budgeting of relevant activities on Consulting and Fortrea-wide opportunities
  • Leading internal innovation initiatives to respond to the market’s and client’s needs
  • Significant contribution to industry-leading white papers or publications in area of expertise
  • Addressing client’s needs with appropriate methods in the RWE space
  • Managing project teams responsible for the relevant activities in the scope of work; advising and redirecting, as needed
  • Delivering strategic, methodological, and conceptual expertise in client engagements
  • Advising on relevant scientific or technical matters
  • Communicating project findings to clients in an effective manner
  • Developing and mentoring Consulting staff (eg, role modeling, developing training materials, identifying appropriate training opportunities, setting objectives, leveraging work)
  • Managing Consulting staff performance and delivering timely and consistent feedback
  • Leading cross-functional teams as needed for given projects
  • Setting and maintaining a standard of personal behavior and business ethics in line with Fortrea culture
  • Cultivating a positive environment and building positive connections with colleagues within Consulting and across Fortrea
  • Participating in hiring Consulting staff
  • And all other duties as needed or assigned
