About The Position

The Pizza Hut US Digital and Technology team is looking for a Quality Engineering Director to lead a high-performing team of quality engineers. You will be the strategic and technical driver of automation tools and frameworks for our web and mobile platforms, menu management, in restaurant technology. Your role will focus on ensuring system stability, performance, and reliability, while also driving automation best practices across API, Web, and Mobile platforms. You’ll work closely with cross-functional leadership, including product, development, and DevOps, to deliver seamless, high-quality user experiences through a robust quality engineering discipline.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of proven experience leading distributed quality engineering teams, with a focus on strong focus on test automation.
  • At minimum bachelor’s in CS, CIS, engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Strong Computer Science fundamental knowledge including data structure and algorithms, system design.
  • Experience with NodeJS, Typescript, and Golang preferred.
  • Deep technical knowledge of code first test automation tools (e.g., Playwright, Appium, WebdriverIO, BrowserStack)
  • Extensive hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and Kubernetes, including monitoring, scaling, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent grasp of CI/CD pipelines, with the ability to integrate automated testing into deployment workflows.
  • Experience with observability, monitoring, and logging best practices in distributed systems.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with NodeJS, Typescript, and Golang preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Refine existing practices and implement new quality assurance practices across the organization to ensure the highest quality deliverables reach our consumers.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of onshore and nearshore quality engineers.
  • Define and track key KPIs and quality metrics to evaluate system health, test coverage, and automation ROI.
  • Drive root cause analysis of production issues using observability tools such as DataDog, ensuring continuous system stability.
  • Guide the implementation and evolution of test automation frameworks for API, Web, and Mobile platforms.
  • Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to optimize performance and quality in a cloud-native infrastructure.
  • Maintain a strong partnership with product and engineering leadership to align quality efforts with business goals.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies and industry best practices in quality engineering, DevOps, and cloud architecture.
