THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE OFFERED A SALARY BETWEEN $115,000.00-$125,000.00. The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services, and provides subsidized child care vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement and programs for youth in the community. The Children’s Center is a 24-hour shift-based operation providing services for New York City’s highly vulnerable population of abused and/or neglected children who have been removed from their parents/caregivers. On average, the Children’s Center serves approximately 2500 unique children entering or re-entering the foster care system as they await transition to return home, stay with kin, or placement in longer-term foster care settings. To achieve positive outcomes in the health, safety and wellbeing of children, the Nicholas Scoppetta Children’s Center (Children’s Center) is seeking a Director of Quality Assurance to develop and implement performance measurement and auditing tools to proactively identify trends and gaps in the quality of care provided to children temporarily residing at the Children’s Center. Reporting to the Associate Commissioner of the Children’s Center, the Director of Quality Assurance will be responsible for the following duties: NSCC’s Quality Assurance unit will support the implementation of the standards and performance tools to assist the Children’s Center in achieving quality outcomes for children. A robust quality assurance program at the Children’s Center will allow for routine self-assessments of the operations at the Children’s Center to enhance best practices, support in the development of policies and procedures and contribute to a safe environment to meet the needs of children. Programs with systems in place to ensure compliance with federal, state, local regulatory agencies will reduce the risk of harm, neglect and abuse to NYC’s most vulnerable population and serves to mitigate legal liability to the City of New York.
