About The Position

The Director of Public Safety at Einstein Philadelphia is responsible for overseeing and leading the Public Safety functions, including security and emergency management for the hospital. This role involves coordinating public safety efforts across the campus, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and providing strategic support to senior leadership. The director will manage daily operations, oversee investigations, and maintain relationships with law enforcement and community organizations to ensure a safe environment for staff and patients.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5-10 years' experience in proprietary Security, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience in Emergency Management or Disaster Preparedness.
  • Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and leadership for Public Safety functions including security and emergency management.
  • Coordinate overall public safety for the Einstein Philadelphia campus in partnership with clinical leaders and local authorities.
  • Lead, plan, organize, and direct administrative and operational functions of Public Safety.
  • Ensure enforcement of regulations, policies, and procedures for a safe campus environment.
  • Support the Senior Director and VP of Public Safety in strategy development and program planning.
  • Direct daily operations and oversee investigations of the Jefferson Security Department.
  • Maintain liaison with law enforcement agencies and community organizations.
  • Supervise and lead the security department, including strategic planning and shift management.
  • Review and develop policies, post orders, and protocols for campus safety.
  • Set attainable goals for the security team and chair the Security & Workplace Violence sub-committee.
  • Prepare Hazard Vulnerability Assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee hiring and training programs for security personnel.
  • Manage departmental budgets and control expenditures for related cost centers.
  • Monitor internal investigations and coordinate with legal and risk management teams.
