About The Position

The Director of Public Relations will manage all public relations activities for Carson Group. This position will plan, develop, and implement public relations programs directed toward the advisor industry and investing consumer. Leveraging a combination of storytelling, relationship building, and analytical skills to drive the brand narrative for Carson, its industry-leading technology and extensive community of thought leaders. This will include managing an agency for media outreach and working with stakeholders across business functions to build compelling storylines and angles to help tell the Carson story.

Requirements

  • Deep knowledge of public relations principles, tools and best practices
  • Strong writing, editing and messaging skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to deliver quality work while managing multiple projects and deadlines
  • Creative, driven, current on wealth management news and trends
  • Solid analytical skills with the ability to track metrics and identify opportunities
  • High level of initiative and the ability to work well collaboratively

Nice To Haves

  • Relationships with trade financial media a bonus but not required
  • Knowledge of financial services, ideally in the wealth management space is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Carson stakeholders across multiple key functions to identify trends and news-worthy topics; use data and thought leadership from internal subject matter experts to develop strategic press releases, pitch angles and byline content that drive earned coverage
  • Create media statements and manage inquiries from journalists
  • Research, write, and distribute press releases to targeted media
  • Create and deliver public relations plans and campaigns
  • Develop strong relationships with financial trade media
  • Work closely with social media, content team and B2B acquisition team to ensure content is leveraged across multiple vehicles
  • Collaborate business consultants and Carson advisor firms to identify success stories and incorporate into PR efforts
  • Maintain in-depth and current knowledge of the financial services industry, develop deep understanding of Carsons offering and leverage to differentiate Carson through public relations and other communications
  • Write news releases that tell Carsons story to influence awareness and consideration among target advisors
  • Manage Carsons PR agency
  • Track and report on PR results to measure effectiveness and identify areas of opportunity
  • Manage crisis communications plan and assist with crisis communications and reputation management
