About The Position

Oversees the general functioning of the facility in routine and crisis environments, ensuring an effective educational and therapeutic program milieu. Responsible for the safety and education of the residents. Directs an effective educational and therapeutic program.Provides leadership and decision-making for all facility related and resident issues and concerns. Ensures the safety of all residents and staff while on duty. Manages programs within budget, monitoring results monthly to assure fiscal goals are accomplished.Provides a weekly schedule of education/program activities that support program goals.Provides training and supervision to staff including all phases of employment (hiring, training, coaching, promoting, and firing). Supervises staff to include timely completion of evaluations, supervision records, all pertinent employee- related paperwork.Monitors all client and facility-related documentation, including tracking sheets, incident reports and other pertinent documents.Acts as the liaison to the other internal and external programs and departments.Directs team in implementation of new policies and procedures.Provides direct management of the supervisory team and other team staff providing leadership, instruction, and feedback. Ensures direct services to residents, including education, group socialization, behavioral management, therapeutic interpersonal communication, individual mental health rehabilitation, and crisis response. Participates in the Residential Treatment Services Management team.Demonstrates leadership and support to achieve program goals and objectives.Attends all training, staff meetings and Treatment Team meetings.Ensures compliance with accreditation and licensing requirements.Administers prescribed medications; documents and observes its effects.Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings and weekends as needed to meet the needs of the program.Implements Saint Francis Ministries policies and follows directives as required. Follows and adheres to all pertinent Saint Francis Ministries Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), rules, personnel policies, and procedures; related accreditation and licensure standards; and federal, state and local rules, statutes, regulations, and all term of the contract between Saint Francis Ministries and DCF.Reports unusual incidents through appropriate Risk Management, clinical and safety channels. Ensures clients' rights are protected. Makes sure all clients have received their rights and maintains a signed copy in each resident file.Is knowledgeable of and follows all safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Masters in human services or social Work
  • MANDT
  • First Aid/CPR
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Must pass a physical examination, including drug screen and TB Skin Test
  • Must pass an MVR, KBI and Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry Clearance check
  • FBI Fingerprint Check
  • Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Lifting requirements of 50 lbs
  • 2-5 years' experience in residential care
  • Experience with emotionally disturbed children
  • Experience supervising staff in a leadership role
