About The Position

Serves in a provider setting and assists in achieving the mission to safeguard people, property, assets, and brand in the course of providing world‑class, quality, and affordable care to its communities. Functions as a single‑source Protective Services subject‑matter expert who delivers security solutions, alternatives, and recommendations across the full spectrum of the service line. Responsibilities include risk‑based staffing, investigative support, loss prevention, incident reporting and critical notifications, incident analysis, crime prevention, risk assessments, law enforcement liaison, special event support, and workplace violence prevention to mitigate reasonably foreseeable risks that could disrupt the delivery of patient care. Additionally, supports emergency management functions and contributes to the organization’s continuity of operations by assisting in preparedness planning, response coordination, hazard mitigation, and recovery activities. Ensures that Protective Services strategies align with organizational continuity objectives, enabling sustained operations during emergencies, critical incidents, or unexpected disruptions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's: Criminal Justice or related field
  • 12 years recent relevant experience.
  • Solid expertise in formal/structured security risk assessment methodology, including the ability to mitigate risk by synchronizing the efforts and capabilities of people, process, and technology.
  • In-depth knowledge of building security staffing models; developing post/patrol strategies; effectively applying security technologies; and coherently blending all program elements with tailored processes to effectively manage risk within a clinical environment.
  • Understanding of the business impact of security tools, technologies, and policies.
  • Broad working knowledge of health care operations and their related security requirements including, but not limited to, hospitals, clinics, medical offices, and their protective services needs.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of current and emerging physical security trends, risks, threats, countermeasures, vulnerabilities, and mitigations ranging across the spectrum from workplace violence to terrorism to loss prevention to behavioral challenges.
  • Written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to give presentations and translate complex concepts into business and clinician relatable language.
  • Proven ability to interpret and effectively apply regulatory requirements and industry best practices in ways that are both compliant and tailored to the operational needs and culture of an organization.
  • Proven ability to work in complex, challenging, and dynamic environments.
