The Role: As a Director, Project Manager at Capital One, you will create strategies and lead a team through high priority projects for the company. You will collaborate with smart and passionate leaders to influence results that have a direct impact on the company’s bottom line. You lead important and exciting projects from day one, working alongside key stakeholders across the company. The Encore team within US Card Tech is seeking a dynamic Director, Project Manager to support delivery of our Enterprise modernization journey and lead Program & Governance across enterprise platforms. The ideal candidate is someone who excels in a team environment, displays proficiency in program and risk management, and is highly motivated. This individual will work with stakeholders from across the company to drive transparency on priorities, delivery progress, and decision emerging risks/issues.

Requirements

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
At least 5 Years of Project Management experience
At least 3 Years of People Management experience
Exceptional Leadership & Influence: Proven ability to influence and drive project/program success through outstanding leadership.
Effective Communication & Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication and partnership skills essential for interacting with and influencing stakeholders at all levels to achieve desired outcomes.
Jira Expertise: Proficient in Jira, capable of leading a team in developing Jira dashboards and decision-making materials.
Strategic Project Management: Demonstrated track record of excellent project management, with the capacity to quickly establish structure in complex, dynamic environments.
Team Development & Coaching: Passionate about coaching and developing associates through an empowering leadership style.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience
6+ years of Project Management experience
4+ years of People Management experience
PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
Strong problem solving and influencing skills
Strong communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

Strategic Project Leadership: Lead moderate to large teams in driving complex projects and programs by providing strategic direction.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Understand complex environments and partner with Product and Tech leadership to develop enterprise-wide stakeholder updates, decision-driving materials, and communications.
On-Time and On-Budget Delivery: Ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget within challenging environments while simultaneously managing risk.
Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner cross-functionally with project customers, offering strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery.
Relationship Building & Collaboration: Build relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure the delivery of commitments.
