About The Position

The Director, Programs provides leadership to assigned programs and provides the vision and strategy for cutting edge, innovative services. The Director brings subject matter expertise that drives departmental performance to achieve the training and employment objectives of the persons served and results in successful implementation of the organization’s mission, goals and metrics for the Department. This role plans, directs, and coordinates daily operations of the assigned education programs in an efficient manner to provide the quality and quantity of work that promotes a high degree of client choice and satisfaction. Other responsibilities include budget development & management, creating programmatic vision for grant requests, personnel management, program execution, program evaluations and maintaining accreditation standards Areas of Programmatic Responsibility: Early Youth Employment Services (EYES) The Academy at Tommy Nobis Center Individual Job Placement Services ConNect Partnerships with DHS, DJJ, DFACS, GVRA CARF Accreditation Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities: Program Specific: Oversees and directs delivery of quality work services including case management, job, and work training. Oversees, directs, and sells the Early Youth Employment Services (EYES), The Academy, ConNect, and Job Placement Programs expanding the program’s reach in the community. Leads partnership efforts with DHS, DJJ, DHS, GVRA and DFACS and other similar programs. Provides behavior management training for all Programs staff. Provides day to day leadership and supervision to Work Adjustment Case Managers and Employment Specialist in partnership with the VP of Administration. Develops and maintains strong and effective community alliances with groups such as Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency, DHS, DFACS DJJ, schools and any other grant funding agencies/programs or community partners/employers. Meets with the client and his/her case manager to develop the vocational service plan for assigned programs including employment training goals, measures, and career planning as needed. Oversees the development of client vocational development plans in conjunction with rehabilitation service plans. Provide case management and support services where needed including coordination of services with other Tommy Nobis Center staff and referral sources. Audit case notes for thoroughness and correctness (grammar, punctuation, etc.) monthly. Provide referral to other services that the participant may need and provide the follow up for these services. Monitor the productivity and progress of participants in their respective programs and provide timely and comprehensive reports internal outcome measures and reports to VR and others as required. Leadership and Management: Plan, develop, coordinate, implement, and monitor assigned rehabilitation services for individuals in various Tommy Nobis Center rehabilitation service programs. Stewards excellent customer service and positive, productive relationships with clients, families/care givers, and counselors. Ensures efficiency of program delivery monitoring days in program metrics and following up on areas of concern accordingly. Oversees the activity of assigned programs monitoring progress and implements changes as needed to meet goals. Develops and implements new rehabilitation services in alignment with the organization’s strategic plan. Responsible for metrics, budget preparation, financial reports, productivity, and quality control systems for specified areas of the Programs team in coordination with the VP, Administration. Sets a positive example and drives our core values: mission-driven, accountability, innovation, integrity, and fun. Coordinates personnel needs with CEO and Director of People and Culture. Participates in the interview process for direct team members. This position is fully responsible for continuously soliciting participant input into the development, planning, and implementation of rehabilitation services. Develops, evaluates, and presents options to management for enhancing and revising current operations or practices based on trends in measurements and metrics. Provides information on possible cost savings and impact on policy and other operations. Works closely with staff in other departments engaged in research, grant funding and analysis work/projects. Is a cultural champion for the organization fostering an environment of trust, alignment, transparency, and accountability. Provides direct supervision and management of assigned team members and oversight of program participant services. Reviews timecard entries, approves employee payroll Actively involved in resolving employee relations matters, conducting disciplinary action (including terminations) when/where needed, and preparing accompanying documentation. Meets all CARF standards in all applicable program areas. Participates in the revision an implementation of policies and procedures for the department. Develops new services or service components in coordination with organizational leadership to further satisfy needs of program participants and families. Participates in meetings to discuss participant progress and issues as needed. Coordinates with Programs team members and Accounting to ensure proper and timely billing for all services delivered. Coordinate participants training opportunities at facility. Conducts participant meetings for discussion of pertinent issues or concerns. Provides monthly departmental performance reports (metrics) to the CEO and President. Monitor the productivity and progress of participants in their respective programs and provide timely and comprehensive reports internal outcome measures and reports to VR and others as required. Assists in preparation of Programs Department reports for Board meetings. Maintain confidential, timely, and accurate case records, attendance, and billing records in accordance with Department of Labor, CARF, TNC, and all other regulatory agency requirements. Prepares and makes presentations to community businesses, civic and educational groups, referral sources, advocates, peers, consumer family groups, etc. to demonstrate the benefits of a partnership program, to encourage employment of Tommy Nobis Center’s program participants, to increase disability awareness, and to market Tommy Nobis Center’s consumer services. Represent Tommy Nobis Center in agency meetings and takes part in community activities to foster cooperation, increase public awareness to market Tommy Nobis Center’s programs and services. Oversees all reporting requirements of GVRA, CARF, and other Federal and State agencies as well as Tommy Nobis Center’s policies and procedures. Implements safety regulations, company policies and procedures as required by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Rehabilitation or related field.
  • 4 years’ experience in leading people and programs to drive growth and execution
  • Supervision of direct service staff
  • Must pass drug screen and background check.
