The Programs Director - Engines is responsible for establishing and achieving the strategic, operational and financial objectives of all engine MRO programs that spans across both US Military and Non-US Military customers within the business unit. Develops and manages customer sales relationships and actively provides or coordinates with the business unit's production, engineering and supply chain functions to meet customers' requirements. Participates in the development and implementation of niche sales and service strategies to achieve business growth objectives.

Requirements

  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills
  • Strong negotiation, conflict resolution and customer service skills
  • Strong product knowledge, including engine applications, technical knowledge of maintenance characteristics, familiarity with assemblies, modules, subassemblies and individual components, and familiarity with product Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)/technical manuals
  • Strong financial analysis skills
  • Thorough knowledge of PC's in the company operating system environment
  • Working knowledge of contract and program management
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of industry experience and licensure/certification
  • Experience in a program management, sales, purchasing, negotiations, and/or related management role in an aerospace environment
  • Leadership and effective people management, along with customer relations management skills are critical

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the planning and operations team for induction of customer engines
  • Coordinates & ensures the development of engine MRO work scope consistent to the contractual or purchase order from the respective customer
  • Work with the planning and operations team in the establishment of the production process that aligns with the TAT and OTD commitments for the respective customers
  • Monitor and effectively collaborate with the planning and operations team in the execution of engine production processes that aligns with the committed TAT & OTD goals
  • Responsible for ensuring all out of scope production, engineering and supply chain activities are appropriate captured under O&A claims, and are quoted for approval from the customer before the continuation of the respective tasks/activities
  • Be the key custodian for the management and accomplishment of all contractual and PO obligations
  • Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of engine production and financial margin reporting
  • Work with the respective functional groups in the business unit to ensure quality of work and minimizing/elimination of COPQ
  • Ensure that engine MRO work performed meets the financial revenue and margins goals projected and/or quoted in the pricing proposal to the customer or registered in the contract
  • Lead the after-delivery review of engine production performance with all key stakeholders to look for opportunity for continuous improvement in TAT, OTD, COPQ and margins
  • Lead the effort in following up with the customer after engine delivery to solicit feedback for continuous improvement opportunities
  • Work with planning and finance team in the progressive revenue recognition process
  • Lead in the organizing of regular program reviews with customers
  • Develop key performance metrics and Service Level Agreements to drive program team performance and shape behavior towards that of a high performing team
  • Prepare, generate and distribute quotations, order acknowledgements and invoices for parts sales
  • Receive, evaluate and respond to customer inquiries for products and services
  • Coordinate with the management team to develop sales terms and conditions, customer relationship development
  • Maintain control of negotiated sales or procurement contracts and communicate results to appropriate corporate personnel
  • Actively participate in the corporate management team, assisting with the development and realization of strategic plans, budgets, goals and outcomes
  • Exercise authority in hiring, training, career development, performance appraisal, salary adjustments, promotion, discipline, health, safety and the general employee relations of direct reports
  • Carry out special projects as assigned
