About The Position

The Director of Programs and Grants provides strategic leadership and oversight of all grant-funded workforce development programs within CSN's Division of Workforce and Economic Development (DWED). This position drives innovation ensures fiscal and programmatic compliance and fosters cross-sector partnerships to expand equitable access to credentialing pathways and economic opportunity across Southern Nevada. This position requires a dynamic and adaptable professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about workforce development The Director of Programs and Grants reports to the Executive Director of DWED.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Public Administration, Workforce Development, or a related field from an accredited college or university; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years of progressive leadership experience in workforce programs and/or grant management.
  • Demonstrated success in grant writing and administration, particularly in public funding contexts (WIOA, AEFLA, etc.).
  • Experience with fiscal oversight, performance metrics, and team leadership.
  • Demonstrated success in forming and maintaining strategic partnerships and securing funding.
  • Familiarity with Nevada’s labor market trends and regional economic priorities.
  • Exceptional leadership and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in integrating non-credit and credit-bearing programs.
  • Familiarity with instructional technologies and virtual learning platforms.
  • Proficiency in the use of a personal computer and current software applications, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability to make decisions and take actions independently in a variety of diverse situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in education, Public Administration, Workforce Development, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Understanding of workforce funding mechanisms (e.g., WIOA, TANF, foundation grants).
  • Experience in contract review, editing, creation and negotiation.
  • Knowledge and experience in public procurement concepts.
