The Director, Professional Practice requires an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across the function or segment. Humana is seeking a Pharmacist experienced in compliance to serve as our Pharmacist-in-Charge for Arizona, a critical part of our Professional Practice team. The Director, Professional Practice defines, executes and maintains the standards for the practice of Pharmacy. The Director, Professional Practice makes certain all external regulations are up to date, consistently followed and communicated timely to all affected employees. Sets and ensures consistent application of additional internal standards to help a company stand out in the industry. Verifies legality and compliance. Decisions are typically related to the implementation of new/updated programs or large-scale projects for the function and supporting technical/operational procedures and processes, and implements strategic plans, drives goals and objectives, and improves performance. Provides input into functions strategy. Use your skills to make an impact Responsibilities Serve as Pharmacist-In-Charge of Mail Delivery Pharmacy that ships prescriptions to all states and territories of U.S. Holds approx. 23 licenses and other registrations on behalf of CenterWell Pharmacy, Inc.. Any required license not currently held by the candidate will need to be obtained in a timely manner(reimbursement for licenses and fees is provided). Preferred licensure states include- AL, AK, AZ, AR, CA, GU, IL, KS, KY, LA, MD, MA, MI, MS, NE, NV, OH, OK, OR, TN, TX, VA, WV. Obtain and maintain Pharmacist licenses in required states to ensure compliance and maintain business operations and continuity. Maintain working knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations, keeping abreast of current changes that may affect pharmacy practice Support regulatory, third party, and accreditation (ex. URAC, ACHC, NABP) audits including preparation and submission of documentation as needed. Represent the Pharmacy and serve as the Point of Contact for Board of Pharmacy, DEA, Manufacturer, Accreditation, and FDA inspections, inquiries, meetings, and audits. Provide guidance and direction to business leaders on the design and implementation of controls to assure compliance, patient safety, and optimize patient experience. Provide oversight of the practice of pharmacy and monitor/approve activities, projects, and initiatives to ensure compliance with all state and federal laws, rules, and regulations Serve and actively participate on Quality Governance Committees Create and implement processes, through training and communication, directives and programs which positively impact the pharmacies and company performance Review and make necessary updates to policies and procedures to ensure compliance and assist in enforcing adherence to corporate policies and procedures. Ensure effective employee development/training Promote and lead continuous quality improvement activities
