About The Position

As the Director of Production Engineering, you will be the primary architect and leader of the technical ecosystem within Rangeview’s Operations organization. You will build and scale a world-class engineering team that enables Rangeview’s ambitious vision for high-volume manufacturing. This role requires both the strategic foresight to develop multi-year headcount, footprint, and capital expenditure plans, as well as the tactical excellence to ensure day-to-day technical hurdles are resolved with speed and precision. You will be the ultimate owner of the technical "how" behind Rangeview’s vision of modern manufacturing. This position’s internal job code is Director, Production Engineering. We are currently hiring for Level 6.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (ABET accreditation required)
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing, mechanical, electrical, or test engineering in aerospace, automotive, or commercial industries
  • 5+ years of experience directly managing a team of engineers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex technical information to executive leadership, key customers, etc.
  • Experience aggregating and analyzing technical data to make objective, informed decisions and drive cross-functional improvement initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to scale production throughput

Nice To Haves

  • Strong understanding of WMS, MES, and ERP systems
  • 2+ years of experience in a senior leadership role
  • Demonstrated experience managing departmental budgets, capital expenditure proposals, and resource allocations

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the individual accountable for the Production Engineering organization and the focal for technical initiatives within Operations
  • Establish the organizational structure and recruit requisite personnel to build a world-class Production Engineering team capable of supporting complex, multi-disciplinary manufacturing processes
  • Define the organization’s overall strategy, objectives, and roadmap to meet business targets, including proposing/justifying budgets, headcount, and long-term capital investment strategies
  • Own the implementation of technical changes within Operations in response to changing market dynamics, factory optimization initiatives, customer needs, etc.
  • Manage executive communications and cross-functional relationships to inform/execute improvement opportunities, ensure alignment of priorities between organizations, and focus efforts to relentlessly drive down lead time and labor hours
  • Drive production autonomy by challenging requirements, simplifying work processes, and implementing intelligent automation
  • Own the outcomes of process failures and improvement initiatives, always driving to resolve the ultimate root cause and ensure personnel safety and product quality
