The Director, Product Management, drives product development from strategy through delivery by bridging business objectives with technical execution. The Director, Product Management, will serve as a Product Owner within Agile teams, guiding teams through solution development for complex, interconnected initiatives while partnering with business stakeholders to deliver maximum business value. This high-impact role defines and delivers initiatives for assigned product area ranging from modern digital consumer experiences to core engine enhancements and flexibility. The Director, Product Management, will navigate complex, compliance-heavy workflows while optimizing high-conversion user journeys. The ideal candidate has experience working across both consumer UX and complex internal tooling; is comfortable navigating high-stakes, regulated, and transactional systems, and is able to make priority decisions to ship quickly and incrementally, balancing immediate value with long-term architectural soundness. About This Role: Problem Definition & Opportunity Validation Clearly define the “what” and “why” of product initiatives using the voice of the customer and representing customer and partner needs. Describe user problems and opportunities in terms of business value. Partner with User Research and Product Design to synthesize insights from customers, partners, and internal teams into actionable product direction. Solution Development & Decision Facilitation Partner with IT and architecture teams to evaluate solution options for validated problems, ranging from quick wins to strategic builds. Facilitate decision-making by presenting options with standardized criteria including estimates for cost, timelines, risks, business impacts, scalability, regulatory complexity, and technical debt. Translate business requirements for technical teams. Clarify questions and remove ambiguity, provide clear direction in discovery and planning activities. Leverage systems and business expertise to navigate conflicting priorities diplomatically, using data-supported rationale. Backlog & Scope Management Define minimum viable product (MVP) scope and phasing strategies that balance speed-to-market with long-term architecture. Own and prioritize product backlog, ensuring teams have 2-3 sprints of ready, well-defined work to optimize team productivity and resource allocation. Write detailed user stories with acceptance criteria covering happy path, edge cases, and error states. Leverage modern tools and AI to improve story quality, workflow designs, and accelerate documentation Monitor and track team capacity allocations to ensure alignment with strategic investment classification and resource optimization. Keep teams focused on high-value work. Product & Delivery Collaboration Serve as Product Owner in agile development framework, ensuring work is properly executed with clear acceptance criteria, comprehensive test plans, and thorough release validation plans. Create comprehensive product documentation, presentation/demo materials, and essential product management deliverables to support stakeholder communication and business enablement. Maintain alignment with product strategy and leadership on prioritization and delivery progress throughout the Product Delivery Lifecycle. Take initiative and exhibit ownership of solutioning within strategic guardrails. Share accountability for delivery outcomes and business results. Ensure deliverables are market-ready and thoroughly tested as part of signoff on work. Business Value & Success Measurement Monitor product KPIs and user feedback to assess ROI and inform future prioritization. Seek opportunities for continuous improvement, establish feedback loops and gather insights from analytics, user research, and customer care. Identify patterns in support tickets and incidents; prioritize product improvements to reduce friction and operational burden.
