About The Position

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Director, Product Management to join the Data Center Power & Control Division within the Starline Business Unit in Canonsburg, PA. The Director, Product Management will help drive innovation, bridge communication between engineers and customers, and guide product strategy for Legrand’s entire suite of Starline products. You will bring successful solutions to market and own end-to-end product campaigns, driving both the product strategy and execution for Starline’s entire product suite. This role will help define the product roadmap to meet Starline’s high level customer demands in an ever-changing, fast-paced market by combining product craft, technical fluency, and business acumen. This role requires a strong technical background, and a customer-centric mindset. You will be responsible for prioritizing customer experience and delivering great solutions while managing decisions between technology, business, and customer needs. You will lead initiatives that expand product lines, penetrate markets, grow revenue, and deliver exceptional outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, marketing, information systems, and/or engineering or equivalent years of experience; MBA preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, operating practices, and design philosophies.
  • At least 10 years of combined experience in a Product Management position or technical marketing, product management and product development initiatives required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience leading others.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully launch new products in a dynamic marketplace, having led at least three major product development cycles from concept to introduction.
  • Knowledge of electrical and technical background required; familiarity with busway products for electrical power distribution systems preferred.
  • Knowledge in critical power infrastructure, including data center power distribution, is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Strong skills in market analytics, competitive analysis, definition, and rollout of marketing programs.
  • Strong product and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple concurrent projects.
  • Track record of delivering end-to-end solutions that scale.
  • Comfort toggling between strategic framing and tactical execution.
  • A team-first mindset—collaborative, coachable, and customer-obsessed with high aspirations to contribute to the team’s success.
  • Proven excellence in researching, organizing, writing, and presenting technical information.
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment, to meet deadlines, and to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Define platform products based on a deep understanding of the markets, technical needs and requirements, anticipate customer use cases, and time to market.
  • Develop differentiated value propositions in the market, focused on customers.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and operations to implement the product strategy, helping them to focus on impactful deliverables, through effective prioritization and exceeding customer expectations.
  • Manage complete product lifecycle from discovery to delivery, realizing business outcomes of the product.
  • Lead product strategy development and create a clear, executable view of the product strategy with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong focus and leadership, balancing innovative design and technical implementations that consider time-to-market, customer requirements, and product costs and profitability.
  • Champions the customer experience and prioritizes customer needs.
  • Lead, develop, and implement standardization in product management based on best-in-class practices.
  • Collaborate with business development team, sales and marketing to define the customer pitches, engagement models, go-to-market positioning & strategy and pricing model through the sales process.
  • Regularly interact with customers to gather feedback and ensure that it is incorporated into the product.
  • Develop and implement business plans and product positioning in the marketplace including global pricing strategies, detailed product specifications, etc. to position Starline in the most successful competitive global position.
  • Partner with product marketing for strategic product introduction plans and market exploitation to ensure maximum penetration.
  • Demonstrate the capacity to both lead and work independently, interfacing cross departmentally on projects and initiatives.
  • Ability to travel as needed between 10-20% of the time; mostly domestic with an occasional international trip.
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership.
