The Director of Product Management will lead the development and execution of a differentiated product strategy that drives profitable growth for the Commercial Gearing Business Unit within the IPS Segment Gearing Division. This role oversees the +$350M portfolio, managing product lifecycles and market strategies to ensure critical products are supported through each phase. The leader will balance portfolio investments, foster new product ideation, and prioritize vitality for A customers and A products. In addition, the position directs the product management function while providing oversight for strategic marketing and commercial operations excellence. As a senior leader, this role combines strategic vision, sales engagement, and product development to achieve business objectives. The Director of Product Management is responsible for building a high-performing team that thrives in a fast-paced environment and consistently delivers exceptional results. This position also drives initiatives that expand market share and maintain superior customer service and satisfaction.

  • Product & Strategic Marketing Leadership Serve as the overall owner of product P&L, ensuring profitability and growth across the portfolio.

  • Manage the entire product life cycle of all product lines within the Commercial Gearing BU portfolio with an emphasis on our A products and new product ideation and development.
  • Operate as the internal voice of our customers across development teams, (primarily Engineering, Sales and Marketing) through an understanding of market requirements, product definition, training and launch activities.
  • Coordinate and lead Voice of Customer (VOC) processes to improve depth and quality of market and technology insights.
  • Utilize VOC and business case analysis to develop strategy and unique value propositions that enable growth.
  • Utilize VOC to develop products and market-based Mekko charts that create unique insights into market and technology needs.
  • Define the competitive landscape and how we will win in each of our target product / market battlegrounds.
  • Develop and implement standard work for product roadmaps that are market and technology driven and support both short- and long-term goals for the business.
  • Develop and implement the go-to-market strategy in partnership with the division and IPS segment commercial leadership teams.
  • Leverage the 80/20 principle and continuous improvement in all aspects of product management, decision making to design, shape and improve the overall portfolio resulting in product line simplification and cost savings.
  • Develop and implement differentiated pricing strategies and processes for all products using 80/20 and value-based pricing.
  • Monitor and manage pricing strategies, standard profit, and gross margin targets.

  • Partner with division leadership to develop annual sales budgets, strategy plan, go-to-market tactics, and promotional plans for all products.
  • Partner with division and IPS commercial leadership to deploy and achieve sales and profitability plans.
  • Commercial Operations Excellence Manage the liaison role between manufacturing operations and the sales team to ensure seamless communication and execution.
  • Support addressing operational challenges such as delays, special orders, and reconfirmation of ship dates for priority customers.
  • Partner with operations to resolve bottlenecks and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Bachelor’s degree required in a related field and an advanced degree in Engineering or Business Administration preferred.
  • 10+ years of marketing, product management and/or sales experience in an industrial goods manufacturing environment required.

  • Deep understanding of customer buying cycle and decision-making process mapping.
  • Strong experience developing and driving lead and opportunity funnel processes.
  • Proven ability to influence and develop trust-based relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, internal partners, and industry leaders to advance the company's strategic goals.
  • Strategic thinker with proven ability to develop and execute long-term plans aligned with organizational goals, analyze complex data to identify trends and opportunities, make calculated, data-driven decisions, and lead cross-functional teams to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Travel: Some travel required (approximately 25%)– both US and international (Mexico).
