About The Position

Natera is at the forefront of personalized genetic testing, transforming the management of disease worldwide. We are seeking a seasoned and visionary Director of Product Management to lead the software product strategy and development for our Comprehensive Genomic Profiling (CGP) portfolio. This is a critical leadership role where you will act as the "Orchestrator" and executive sponsor for the end-to-end CGP software ecosystem. You will own the full product lifecycle—from sample order to report delivery—acting as the bridge between cutting-edge R&D, clinical operations, and engineering. You will lead the transition of our Altera product from a send-out model to a fully in-house, leveraging our new high-throughput sequencing architecture. This role requires a leader who thrives in a complex, regulated environment, possessing the strategic vision of a product leader combined with the execution rigor of a seasoned operator. You will live the ethos of agile, user-centered development with high agency and urgency, driving the team to navigate ambiguity and deliver critical milestones.

Requirements

  • Experience: 10+ years of product management experience in healthcare IT, biotech, or software, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Domain Knowledge: Deep familiarity with Oncology, Comprehensive Genomic Profiling (CGP), and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflows is required.
  • Zero-to-One Track Record: Proven experience building and launching "Zero-to-One" software products.
  • Regulated Industry Expertise: Deep experience in a highly regulated environment, with
  • Technical Aptitude: Strong ability to understand technical complexities (APIs, LIMS architecture, Bioinformatics pipelines) and communicate effectively with engineering and scientific teams
  • Education: BS/MS in a relevant technical, scientific, or quantitative discipline (MBA or PhD is a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Define the CGP Software Vision: Develop and execute the multi-year software product roadmap for the CGP portfolio, balancing the need for rapid feature development with long-term commercial stability and regulatory compliance.
  • The "L2" Architect: Translate high-level business goals (L1) into detailed functional workflows (L2 requirements) that component Product Owners consume to create their specific user stories. You are accountable for the cohesion of the final solution.
  • End-to-End "Sample-to-Report" Ownership: Ensure that the sample journey remains unbroken across system boundaries (Portal -> LIMS -> Bioinformatics -> Report).
  • Founder’s Mindset: Champion a culture of "high agency" and urgency, driving the team to make quick, data-driven decisions in ambiguous situations and deliver critical milestones in a fast-paced environment
  • Focused Development: Lead the software strategy for bringing our tumor an liquid CGP products in house, moving from external partner integrations to a native Natera software stack.
  • Operational Immersion: Passionately advocate for the needs of internal users (lab scientists, accessioning teams) by regularly shadowing operations to ensure software solves real physical problems in the lab
  • Cross-Functional Orchestration: collaborate closely with Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, and Engineering teams to productionize complex algorithms into scalable clinical workflows. You will bridge the gap between scientific intent and software reality.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas for diverse audiences and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Systems Thinking: Ability to see the "big picture" and understand how software systems interact across the entire sample lifecycle
  • Project Delivery: Drive project execution with the rigor of a seasoned project manager, ensuring cross-functional teams (Engineering, R&D, Lab Ops, Quality, Regulatory) stay on track to meet critical deadlines
  • Agile Mastery: Expert in Agile methodologies and software development lifecycles
  • Culture Building: Foster a product culture of accountability, user experience rigor, and cross-functional collaboration within the Oncology software unit.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and guide Senior Product Managers and cross-functional team members, instilling best practices in product management and agile development.
