About The Position

We at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution are embarking on a journey to transform a storied, 156-year-old newspaper into the most essential and engaging source of news and information for the people of Atlanta, Georgia, and the South. That journey will be defined by our commitment to delivering meaningful and innovative products to the audiences we wish to serve. As a critical leader in our organization, the Product Director for AJC Core Experience will shape the future of our flagship subscription product. Reporting to the Head of Product, this role will be instrumental in ensuring our product exceeds the evolving expectations of our customers. This is an opportunity to lead with vision, inspire cross-functional teams, and deliver results that make a measurable impact for Atlanta, Georgia, and the South.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 10 years' experience in a related field.
  • Proven expertise in product management, with at least 3 years in senior product roles.
  • Experience in consumer-facing products is highly preferred.
  • Ability to craft and articulate a product strategy that aligns with long-term business objectives.
  • Deep understanding of user research, data analysis, and customer journey mapping to inform product decisions.
  • Strong experience in Agile methodologies, roadmap planning, and release management.
  • Comfortable working with engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Skilled at presenting to senior stakeholders and simplifying complex concepts for varied audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the digital product strategy for our flagship AJC subscription product, including AJC.com, the AJC mobile app, newsletters, and other key features, aligning with business goals and customer needs.
  • Drive the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from discovery and design to delivery and iteration.
  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Product to refine priorities and establish a clear product roadmap.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including technology, marketing, and customer experience, to deliver high-quality, impactful features.
  • Leverage customer insights and data analytics to identify opportunities for growth, retention, and engagement.
  • Champion Agile methodologies and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the product team.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of product releases with a focus on quality and user satisfaction.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform product positioning and differentiation strategies.
