About The Position

At Zocdoc, we’re building the best experience for millions of patients to find and access care, while helping more than a hundred thousand providers grow their practices. Advertising is a core lever of that growth. As Director, Product – Ads, you will own Zocdoc’s Ads business end to end and have the opportunity to build this into a multi-billion dollar business. You’ll define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for our advertising platform, driving meaningful revenue growth while ensuring ads enhance, not detract from, the patient experience. You will lead the Ads product end to end, spanning auction design, ranking and relevance, advertiser tooling, measurement, targeting, pricing, experimentation, and monetization strategy, but as you build the team, you will need to also act as a hybrid player-coach. You must be equally able to roll up your sleeves and ship product, while simultaneously building out the team and defining our long-term ads business strategy. You are accountable for building a scaled, durable Ads business that delivers measurable ROI for providers and long-term value for Zocdoc.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of product experience, ideally substantial time in adtech, advertising platforms, or marketplace monetization
  • 3+ years of proven management experience in recruiting, leading, and developing a team of great product managers, ideally in organizations with multiple layers
  • Deep experience owning an Ads business or major ad surface with direct revenue accountability
  • Demonstrated success in owning and driving objective improvements in key business metrics
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across diverse teams, including engineers, designers, marketers, and executives
  • Strong analytical skills and a natural curiosity to solve some of healthcare’s most challenging problems
  • A strategic, customer-focused mindset with the ability to leverage qualitative and quantitative insights to set strategy and iterate on products

Responsibilities

  • Defining and communicating a strong, clear vision for your product area
  • Recruiting, leading, mentoring, and developing a team of world-class product managers to build and execute against your collective vision
  • Collaborating and communicating effectively with Engineering, Design, Analytics, Marketing, BI, Sales, BD, and Business Operations to influence outcomes
  • Owning and driving key business metrics, such as revenue, user growth, conversion and engagement
  • Implementing best-in-class product development and management practices to ensure team success
  • Creating and launching healthcare-changing products and features to better connect patients and providers
