About The Position

The Director, Product Analytics is responsible for driving business results and empowering informed, data-driven product decisions by providing the product organization that supports FOX with timely insights and thought partnership. As an analytics lead for company initiatives/projects that require extensive discovery effort, the Director, Product Analytics will serve as a subject matter expert for questions related to product research, experimentation and behavioral analytics. They will also manage projects, conduct presentations, and make clearly communicated recommendations to various levels of leadership. They will also be responsible for ensuring the team members they manage are using and advocating for best practices, driving continuous improvement of analytics methodologies/technologies, and improving overall team efficiency and effectiveness. Expected to perform these duties with little daily oversight.

Requirements

  • Must have history of web analytics, experience managing complex web analytics teams and/or projects.
  • Experience building and leading Product Analytics teams, especially in a start-up environment.
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in business or analytical fields; Master's degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience with web/digital analysis and related software (e.g., Amplitude, Adobe Analytics, Heap, Optimizely).
  • Advanced Excel skills, including formula, statistical functions, graphs, visualization, and macros development.
  • Working knowledge of ad serving platforms (e.g., DFP, ADX).
  • Proficiency in common business software packages.
  • Intermediate knowledge of advanced statistics (e.g., Regression Analysis).
  • Advanced experience with experimental design.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL-based relational databases (e.g., Athena, Redshift, Netezza).
  • Experience with media player products and associated data/reporting (e.g., Datazoom, Conviva).
  • Ability to consult and influence as a subject matter expert.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present analysis findings to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize in a real-time event/deadline-driven atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Lead analytics implementation and maintenance to ensure accurate and reliable data capture, systems and tools.
  • Serve as analytics lead for company initiatives/projects, establishing business objectives, questions, and requirements with stakeholders.
  • Review analysis with internal and external audiences of various sizes and seniority, presenting cohesive and well-communicated insights.
  • Monitor the health and performance of products and business, anticipating business needs and proactively working with stakeholders.
  • Apply advanced analytics methodologies to online properties' visitor behavioral and business data.
  • Support testing analytics and direct stakeholders on formulating test strategies and measurement of experiments.
  • Establish and enforce product analytics standards and best practices.
  • Work cross-functionally to identify opportunities in analytics tech stack and architecture.
  • Work with leadership to define priorities that align with evolving business priorities.
  • Build and champion a healthy team culture, coaching team members and supporting their development.
