About The Position

The Director, Procurement helps translate enterprise vision into category strategies, manages complex sourcing programs, and helps operationalize a strategic sourcing program. You will also partner with Development/Construction, Design, and Operations to identify partners that best meet organizational needs. The role owns national supplier programs for new developments, leads high-value RFPs and negotiations, and builds procurement processes to drive savings, reduce risk, and improve service to Core’s projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field.
  • 7–10+ years in Construction procurement/strategic sourcing or supply chain with demonstrated ownership of complex RFPs and negotiations.
  • Strong analytical skills (Excel/BI), comfort with procurement software/ERP/CMMS, and building dashboards/reports.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership.
  • Experience operationalizing programs across multi-site portfolios; travel as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Construction with a focus on student housing/multifamily a plus.
  • Proven track record establishing national supplier programs.
  • Familiarity with contracting standards and supplier risk frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Build multi-year category strategies for construction materials and standards in partnership with internal stakeholders; develop sourcing pipelines, savings targets, and supplier partnership plans.
  • Develop portfolio-wide spend analysis to identify consolidation, standardization, and total-cost-of-ownership opportunities. This includes looking at operational efficiencies/costs post construction.
  • Lead evaluation, negotiation, award, and ongoing management of national/regional agreements; define SLAs, KPIs, scorecards, and risk criteria; chair business reviews.
  • Lead enterprise-wide RFPs; assemble and coach cross-functional sourcing teams; ensure alignment to company vision and priorities.
  • Manage partnerships through a supply chain with multiple stakeholders.
  • Work with internal teams to manage product specifications and drive usage on Core’s Development projects
  • Build SOPs, approval workflows, supplier onboarding, and risk monitoring; partner with Legal on templates for Core’s business units.
  • Serve as the primary procurement partner to Construction and Design; translate business needs into sourcing strategies.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary as needed
