About The Position

The Director, Strategic Sourcing (MRO / Capital Equipment) is responsible for end‑to‑end category leadership across Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO), capital equipment and projects, and other categories as assigned. This role owns multi‑year category strategies, value delivery, supplier risk management, and stakeholder alignment for these spend areas. The Director may lead a small focused team and serves as the primary point of accountability for sourcing outcomes in operationally and financially critical categories assigned to them. The salary range for this position is $134,500 to $170,000. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience; all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 7 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, with significant exposure to applicable spend categories
  • Experience operating within or alongside an S2P platform and structured category management framework
  • Proven experience leading complex negotiations, sourcing initiatives, and senior stakeholder engagements
  • Proficient knowledge in developing and executing business strategies that align with the company’s long-term goals
  • Proficient knowledge of market dynamics and competitor analysis to inform strategic decisions
  • Skilled in managing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively with different departments to achieve business objectives
  • Strong ability to negotiate contracts, partnerships, and agreements that benefit the organization
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and mentor teams and individuals to drive performance, engagement, and professional growth
  • Ability to think long-term and formulate strategies to drive the business forward
  • Ability to delegate tasks effectively, empowering teams while maintaining accountability
  • Ability to earn trust and respect from project stakeholders and influence decisions that need to be made to make any project successful

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute multi‑year category strategies for MRO, capital equipment/projects, and other categories as assigned, balancing cost optimization, service levels, and supply‑risk mitigation
  • Provide strategic oversight and hands‑on leadership for complex sourcing initiatives, including capital projects, long‑term service agreements, and enterprise‑wide supply contracts
  • Own supplier strategy and relationship management for critical OEMs, distributors, and service providers supporting operations and capital programs
  • Ensure strong contract lifecycle management discipline, including standardized terms, renewal timing, commercial protections, and risk allocation
  • Partner closely with Finance, Operations, Facilities, IT, and Capital Planning teams to align sourcing strategies with budget cycles and operational requirements
  • Support source-to-pay (S2P) enablement for owned categories, including catalog strategy, contracted item setup, approval workflows, and guided buying design
  • Champion standardized sourcing, purchasing, inventory, and supplier onboarding processes across assigned categories
  • Track, validate, and communicate value delivered, including hard savings, cost avoidance, lifecycle cost improvements, and risk mitigation
