About The Position

The Director, Strategic Sourcing (MRO / Capital) enables Aspen One’s operations and growth by leading end‑to‑end category strategy across Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO), capital equipment and projects, and general supplies. The role owns multi‑year strategies, value delivery, and supplier risk management for high‑impact spend areas, partnering closely with operational leaders to ensure the right suppliers, commercial structures, and sourcing discipline support both day‑to‑day operations and long‑term capital investment. As a key leader within Procurement, the Director scales disciplined sourcing practices and advances Source‑to‑Pay (S2P) adoption across high‑variability categories, driving measurable financial outcomes across mountain, hospitality, and corporate environments, and reports through the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The salary range for this position is $134,500 to $170,000. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience; all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 7 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, with significant exposure to applicable spend categories
  • Experience operating within, or alongside, a Source-to-Pay (S2P) platform and a structured category management framework
  • Experience leading complex negotiations, capital sourcing initiatives, and senior-level stakeholder engagements
  • Ability to develop and execute strategies that align sourcing decisions with long-term business and operational objectives
  • Knowledge of market dynamics, supplier landscapes, and competitive forces to inform sourcing and risk-management decisions
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with both internal partners and external suppliers
  • Ability to collaborate seamlessly across functions to deliver shared outcomes
  • Experience with contract negotiation, with the ability to structure agreements that balance value creation, risk mitigation, and long-term partnership
  • Experience leading, developing, and mentoring teams, driving performance, engagement, and professional growth
  • Ability to be a long-term thinker who can translate vision into actionable, executable plans
  • Strong delegation and prioritization skills, empowering teams while maintaining clear accountability

Responsibilities

  • Shape and lead multi-year category strategies across MRO, capital equipment and projects, and office supplies—balancing cost optimization, service reliability, and supply-risk resilience in a highly dynamic operating environment.
  • Drive complex, high-impact sourcing initiatives that support Aspen One’s most critical capital and operational priorities, including major projects, long-term service partnerships, and enterprise-wide supply agreements.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing category team, setting clear priorities, coaching talent, and driving accountability to deliver measurable results.
  • Own supplier strategy and executive-level relationships with key OEMs, distributors, and service providers that power mountain operations, hospitality, and capital programs.
  • Establish strong commercial and contractual discipline, ensuring contracts are structured to protect Aspen One through clear terms, proactive renewals, risk allocation, and long-term value creation.
  • Partner closely with Finance, Operations, Facilities, IT, and Capital Planning to align sourcing strategies with budget cycles, operating realities, and long-range investment plans.
  • Advance Source-to-Pay (S2P) adoption across owned categories, including catalog strategy, contracted item setup, approval workflows, and intuitive guided buying experiences.
  • Champion standardized, scalable processes across sourcing, purchasing, inventory, and supplier onboarding—bringing consistency and control while supporting operational agility.
  • Track, validate, and communicate value delivered, including hard savings, cost avoidance, lifecycle cost improvements, and risk mitigation that directly support Aspen One’s financial and operational goals.
  • Evolve scope over time as business priorities change, with opportunities to expand category ownership and enterprise impact.
