About The Position

HF Sinclair is seeking a Director, Process Engineering & Techology in Dallas, TX who will be responsible to oversees and manages the HF Sinclair Process Reliability Organization to assure exceptional and sustainable Process Engineering and Tech Services for all of HF Sinclair Manufacturing. The Director, Process Reliability delivers this through direct accountability of the Corporate Process Reliability Group, ownership of the Corporate Process Reliability OEMS element and as the leader of the Tech Manager Network. Job Duties Assures the functioning of Tech Manager Network and process technology teams (Tech Teams).  Assures systems and practices are developed and executed that result in long-range development of process engineering competencies, tools, structure and best practices company-wide. Oversees development and ongoing quality of company's Process Engineering functions. Assures all engineering activities are in accordance with organizational standards. Oversees key positions assigned to select SPECIAL OPS teams, focused primarily on Process Technology. Participate in long range strategic planning and decision making relative to HF Sinclair Manufacturing Assets. Identifies and develops options around significant refining threats and opportunities (examples may include new product specifications or new environmental rules). Support cross-discipline or cross-functional initiatives needing process engineering expertise such as major capital, refinery routine capital, and commercial/ operations. Generates new ideas and ways to improve profitability or new commercial opportunities. Evaluates new ideas and processes that will improve the Company's profitability or competitive position. Support developing and evaluating major capital projects, considering long-term economics and maximizing NPV contribution to HF Sinclair.   Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time, are at the supervisor's sole and complete discretion.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience, with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the refining industry, is required.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a chemical engineering field is required.
  • Proven leadership ability.
  • Good spreadsheet, database and word processing applications knowledge; advanced time-management, organizational, project planning and management skills; demonstrated competency in the execution of multiple projects.
  • Advanced verbal and written communications and reading skills; advanced interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate to others; presentation, negotiation and organizational skills; ability to communicate technical plans, strategies and designs with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations.
  • Proficient in procurement, budgeting and cost management; knowledge of refinery principles, safety practices, and regulatory compliance procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • A Master's Degree in a science or engineering related field.
