About The Position

The Director of Privacy Operations at Universal Music Group (UMG) is responsible for leading the newly formed Privacy Operations team. This role involves developing and overseeing day-to-day privacy operations and governance processes, collaborating closely with UMG's Global Privacy Office. The Director will also manage the deployment and operations of UMG's Consent Management Platform across various digital platforms, ensuring compliance with privacy policies and legal requirements while coordinating with multiple business teams.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Privacy for global, complex direct-to-consumer organizations.
• Hands-on experience with Enterprise Consent Management and Governance Platforms such as Transcend.io or OneTrust.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Privacy Certifications (CIPP, CIPM or equivalent) or equivalent work experience is required.
• Experience in Data Governance is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Privacy Operations team and oversee daily operations and governance processes.
• Collaborate with UMG's Global Privacy Office on privacy policy implementation and compliance.
• Manage the deployment of UMG's Consent Management Platform across artist websites, stores, and apps.
• Coordinate with Direct-to-Fan business teams and Global Privacy on new initiatives and data sources.
• Ensure correct privacy policies are displayed by the Consent Management Platform based on territory and purpose.
• Oversee updates to the Consent Management Platform regarding allowable cookies and risk concerns.
• Support the execution of Data Subject Access Requests (DSAR) and maintain automations related to consent records.
• Guide business and tech teams in assessing and documenting new data uses and platforms.
