About The Position

NAPA Auto Parts is seeking a visionary and results-driven Director of Strategic Price Setting to lead our pricing team and drive innovative pricing strategies that maximize profitability and competitive advantage. This leadership role requires a strategic thinker with deep pricing expertise and demonstrated experience managing and developing high-performing teams. You will also play a critical role in advancing our pricing technology capabilities through hands-on leadership in software enhancement projects, including requirements discovery, design collaboration, user acceptance testing (UAT), and deployment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in pricing management, preferably within the automotive aftermarket or similar B2B distribution industry.
  • Proven track record of developing high performing teams
  • Proven track record of implementing successful pricing strategies in B2B/B2C settings.
  • Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with the capacity to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Demonstratable proficiency in BI tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or Qlik, as well as Excel.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a strong focus on accuracy and precision.
  • Experience with price management software such as PROS, Vendavo, or PriceFX.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable to evolving business needs and market conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Team Development: Provide inspiring leadership and mentorship to a team of pricing managers and analysts, fostering professional growth, skill development, and high performance. Cultivate a collaborative and accountable team culture that drives innovation and excellence in pricing execution. Champion continuous learning and development initiatives to ensure the team remains agile and equipped to meet evolving business and market demands.
  • Price Strategy Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop pricing strategies tailored to our B2B customers, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market dynamics. Stay current with industry trends and emerging/declining technologies. Provide these strategic recommendations to executive leadership based on data-driven insights and market-based intelligence.
  • Price Implementation: Oversee the execution of pricing changes, ensuring accuracy and timely implementation to meet the needs of our business customers through a team of managers and analysts.
  • Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor and evaluate pricing performance metrics using BI tools and impact tracking dashboards oriented around KPIs, making data-driven recommendations for adjustments to enhance profitability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Cultivate relationships with category management, procurement, supply chain, IT, sales, and field teams to ensure alignment and execution of pricing strategies across all channels.
  • Price Management Software Experience: Experience with price management software such as PROS, Vendavo, or PriceFX. This will extend to influencing the design and implementation of advanced pricing models and methodologies in pricing software.
  • Pricing Software Enhancement & Governance: Lead the end-to-end process of pricing software enhancements—partnering with technology teams and business stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, and prioritize development initiatives.
