About The Position

The Director, POS Systems & IT Implementation is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all technology and Point of Sale (POS) implementation initiatives across the ModWash enterprise. This role requires extensive IT experience combined with deep expertise in car wash industry point of sale systems, including Micrologic, Sonny’s, AMP, DRB, and NXT. The Director will spearhead conversion initiatives, manage large-scale project rollouts, oversee new build IT infrastructure, and ensure seamless execution of soft openings, grand openings, and capital expenditure (CAPX) technology initiatives. This position serves as a critical bridge between operations, IT, and vendor partners, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and at ModWash’s industry-leading standards for guest experience.

Requirements

  • 2+ years’ experience Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of progressive IT leadership experience with at least 2 years focused on POS systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of car wash POS systems including Micrologic, Sonny’s, AMP, DRB, and NXT (required).
  • Proven track record leading IT conversions, system migrations, and multi-site rollout projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of POS hardware, software, networking, and integrations.
  • Expertise in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid).
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing CAPX budgets and ROI assessments.
  • Excellent leadership and team development skills with ability to manage remote teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, executive reporting).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-state operational environment.
  • Commit to a minimum 50-hour work week with flexibility for extended hours during conversions, new builds, or critical outages.
  • Attend a 1-month training program at the ModWash Home Office in Chattanooga, TN to gain deep understanding of ModWash systems, culture, and operations.
  • Travel as required for site conversions, training, or escalated technical issues.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the POS IT Field Service Manager and POS IT Field Service Technicians, ensuring team alignment with corporate goals and operational excellence.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development to direct reports.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for POS systems and IT implementation across the organization.
  • Oversee the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of Micrologic, Sonny’s, AMP, DRB, and NXT POS systems across the ModWash portfolio.
  • Ensure system uptime, reliability, and seamless guest experience through proactive management and troubleshooting.
  • Partner with POS vendors to escalate, resolve, and prevent recurring issues.
  • Lead full-scale conversion projects from legacy POS platforms to new POS technologies, including planning, testing, and migration of sensitive guest and financial data.
  • Direct IT infrastructure setup and POS integration for new site builds, soft openings, and grand openings.
  • Collaborate with construction, operations, and vendor teams to ensure all technology components are functional and aligned with ModWash brand standards before site launch.
  • Own the planning and execution of IT-related CAPX initiatives, including cost analysis, vendor coordination, and resource allocation.
  • Develop detailed project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Deliver regular updates to senior leadership on project status, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure all POS and IT implementations meet compliance requirements for payment security (PCI DSS), data privacy, and ModWash’s internal standards.
  • Partner with the Guest Advocacy team to support issue resolution and ensure POS systems enhance, not hinder, the guest experience.
  • Proactively identify risks in POS infrastructure and implement preventive measures.
