Treaty Oak is a wholly-owned portfolio company of Macquarie Asset Management (Macquarie), one of the world’s largest infrastructure managers with $600 billion under management, pairing Treaty Oak’s renewables development expertise with Macquarie’s capital backing and global leadership in advancing the energy transition. The Director, Portfolio Management will support the execution and oversight of Treaty Oak’s renewable energy project portfolio, with a particular focus on projects advancing toward Final Investment Decision (FID) and construction. Reporting to the Vice President, Portfolio Management, this role will play a critical role in ensuring projects are effectively integrated, managed, and tracked across the development lifecycle. This role requires a highly detail-oriented leader with strong capabilities in project scheduling, budgeting, and risk management, along with direct experience supporting project M&A due diligence and transitioning acquired projects into a new organization. The Director will help ensure projects are advanced with the rigor and documentation required to meet investment and financing requirements. The ideal candidate is a strong execution-oriented professional who can operate across multiple workstreams, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and drive consistency and discipline across the project portfolio.

Requirements

  • 10–12+ years of experience in renewable energy development, project management, portfolio management, or project M&A.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Direct experience supporting project acquisitions, including diligence and integration of development-stage projects.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing and managing detailed project schedules and development budgets.
  • Proven track record supporting projects through financing or construction readiness stages.
  • Strong understanding of project finance requirements, investment decision criteria, and lender diligence expectations.
  • Experience working across cross-functional teams in complex project environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project tracking tools; experience with enterprise project management systems preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to senior leadership and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Support oversight of a large-scale pipeline of renewable energy projects, ensuring portfolio schedules, budgets, and milestones remain aligned with corporate targets.
  • Work closely with Development Project Managers and functional teams to ensure projects advance toward FID with clear execution plans and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain visibility into project critical paths and ensure timely escalation of risks and bottlenecks.
  • Lead and support project-level M&A diligence activities, including detailed review and validation of project schedules, development budgets, and execution assumptions.
  • Prepare and maintain diligence schedules, integration plans, and execution roadmaps for acquired projects.
  • Work closely with Development, Finance, Engineering, and Legal teams to assess project readiness, risks, and integration requirements.
  • Lead transition planning to ensure acquired projects are effectively onboarded into Treaty Oak’s governance framework, reporting systems, and development processes.
  • Identify gaps in scope, schedule, or budget assumptions during diligence and support mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain rigorous oversight of project schedules and development budgets, ensuring alignment with financing timelines and capital deployment plans.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project execution schedules and cost tracking aligned with investment decision timelines.
  • Ensure development workstreams are executed with the documentation and rigor required to support lender and investor diligence processes.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance and Project Controls teams to ensure project assumptions are accurately reflected in financial models and investment materials.
  • Support development and refinement of standardized portfolio processes, scopes of work, and reporting frameworks.
  • Drive adoption of project controls best practices to improve consistency across the portfolio.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance portfolio visibility and execution efficiency.
  • Support the Quarterly Project Review process, ensuring accurate and data-driven updates are prepared for executive leadership.
  • Prepare portfolio reporting materials highlighting project status, risks, and investment readiness.
  • Ensure adherence to Treaty Oak’s governance framework, including stage-gate reviews and reporting protocols.
  • Partner closely with Development, Engineering, Transmission, Environmental & Permitting, Finance, and Pre-Construction teams to ensure coordinated project execution.
  • Support communication across teams to ensure alignment on project assumptions, timelines, and risk mitigation strategies.
