The Job: As a Director, Platforming, Pro Electric, You’ll be part of our Towson Design Center team. You’ll get to: Own Platform Architecture in Coordination with Chief & Product Management (CGO) to Define Product Roadmap Define Modules to be Used in New Product Prior to Design Center Execution Design guide, Ensure that the re-use of components is maximized & that cost is a key driver of selection. Clearly understand product Trade-Off’s to deliver the optimized platform solution. Ensure that NPD projects are fully scoped with all SKUs in consideration. Support the portfolio optimization team to ensure that we deliver a fully refined portfolio as we progress the product lifecycle. Identify standardization opportunities within both NPD & Current Products to driver cost improvement for our products. Own Platform Integrity and Associated Module Life Cycles Maintain/build Library-Menus Identify Technology Roadmaps and Application Needs In Collaboration with Chief Engineers Platform Reporting (On Time / On Cost / On Quality) at Cross Functional Meetings Own Platform Cost Walk and Plan to Optimize Cost In Collaboration with CGO, GSC and DTV Partners; Determine Sub-Component / Module Level Product Cost Budget Collaboration with GSC (Manf., Ops, Purchasing, Eng.) on Footprint Moves & Strategies for Component Costs

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in product management, engineering , platform strategy, or technology leadership roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
  • Influential Leader with strategic vision that knows the product line and what it takes to drive success.
  • Strong decision-making capabilities, particularly with prioritizing among disparate objectives.
  • Leadership experience from a global company known for innovation and engineering excellence.
  • Strong communication skills – ability to develop/deliver technical presentations.
  • Collaborate and build consensus with stakeholders and teams to arrive at opportunities that drive innovation.
  • Ability to inspire, influence and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Expert builder of internal and external relationships; inspiring leader to team, colleagues, and broader organization.
  • Well versed in change management and demonstrated capability of managing change globally.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
