About The Position

The Director, Platform & Data Architecture is responsible for defining, governing, and operationalizing the company’s enterprise technology architecture while leading the strategic adoption of artificial intelligence and intelligent automation across the organization. This role provides direct leadership to Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects, and Systems Analysts, ensuring consistent architectural standards, strong solution design, and clear translation of business needs into scalable, secure technology solutions. This leader partners closely with IT and business executives to align technology strategy, delivery execution, and long-term platform modernization in a mid-size broadband/cable environment. Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including significant leadership experience in enterprise and solution architecture.
  • Demonstrated experience managing architecture and technical analyst teams.
  • Strong understanding of modern architecture patterns, including cloud/hybrid platforms, API-based integration, data platforms, and security.
  • Practical experience or strong working knowledge of AI/ML, analytics, and intelligent automation.
  • Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience deploying AI-enabled solutions in production environments.
  • Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and AI risk management practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in broadband, cable, telecom, or similarly complex, operationally critical environments preferred.
  • Familiarity with OSS/BSS platforms and network operations systems.
  • Experience with architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, TMForum ODA) and cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with TMForum telecommunications frameworks such as ODA and eTOM is a plus
  • Strategic but pragmatic; focused on business outcomes over theoretical purity.
  • Comfortable influencing across teams and functions.
  • Strong people leader with a coaching mindset.
  • Able to operate effectively in ambiguity and drive clarity.

Responsibilities

  • Architecture & Solution Leadership Lead and develop a team of Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects, and Systems Analysts.
  • Define and govern enterprise architecture vision, standards, and roadmaps across applications, data, integration, infrastructure, and security.
  • Ensure solution designs align with enterprise standards while enabling timely, pragmatic delivery.
  • Provide architectural oversight for major initiatives, including OSS/BSS modernization, data platforms, customer experience, and operational systems.
  • Establish architecture governance, including design reviews, reference architectures, and standards adoption.
  • AI & Intelligent Automation Develop and execute the company’s AI and intelligent automation strategy, focused on measurable business outcomes.
  • Enable AI-driven use cases across customer experience, network operations, field services, and revenue protection.
  • Define reusable AI architecture patterns, tools, and integration standards.
  • Partner with data, security, privacy, and legal teams to ensure responsible and compliant AI adoption.
  • Business Analysis & Delivery Alignment Standardize systems analysis and requirements practices across IT initiatives.
  • Ensure business needs are translated into clear, prioritized requirements aligned with architectural standards.
  • Improve upfront clarity to reduce delivery risk, rework, and architectural drift.
  • Technology Strategy & Investment Planning Partner with IT leadership on multi-year technology roadmaps, modernization efforts, and investment prioritization.
  • Lead architectural input into build vs. buy decisions, vendor evaluations, and platform selections.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies relevant to broadband, cable, and enterprise IT.
  • Balance innovation with security, scalability, reliability, and cost discipline.
  • Assist in budget planning, preparation and forecasting within the department.
  • People Leadership & Collaboration Establish clear roles, career paths, and performance expectations across architecture and analysis disciplines.
  • Mentor and coach team members to strengthen technical leadership and business impact.
  • Collaborate closely with application, infrastructure, data, security, network, and operations teams.
  • Communicate architectural direction clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
