About The Position

Director, Planning & Strategic Initiatives The Director of Planning & Strategic Initiatives for WIIM & FWC, is a strategic role that partners with the Head of Workplace Inclusion, Insights, and Marketing to lead the business planning process, executive management routines, and strategic prioritization for WIIM. This role will also partner with Head of Fidelity Workplace Consulting and other senior leaders within WI CEG to lead strategic initiatives for FWC & broader CEG organization. Reporting to Head of Insights and Integration, this individual will be a key member of the team working across Relationship Management, Sales, WIIM, and FWC driving increased synergies and insights for this group. Fidelity’s Workplace Investing business is the market-leading provider of retirement, investment, and benefits solutions for more than 23,000 companies and their 40 million employees. The Insights and Integration team resides within the WI Client Engagement Group. We help define and prioritize strategy and focus areas across Relationship Management, Sales, Workplace Inclusion, Insights, and Marketing, and Fidelity Workplace Consulting, ensure consistent alignment with WI strategy and initiatives, support senior leadership routines, and drive improved and modernized insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA degree or equivalent degree or experience is preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in business management / consulting / strategy / planning.
  • Experience working in the Workplace Investing business desired.
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in the financial services industry, with the strong knowledge of the retirement and/or healthcare benefits industry, customers, and products and services.
  • You have outstanding analytical, communication, conceptual thinking, project management and problem-solving capabilities.
  • You are capable of influencing and providing strategic guidance to senior management, through both personal interactions as well as the creation and delivery of research-based conclusions.
  • You drive decisions in complex environments with multiple partners.
  • You have a strong working knowledge of advanced analytics, are comfortable with data and quantitative analysis, and have an interest in AI.
  • You have outstanding organizational skills and a proactive, creative, and collaborative approach to solving strategic business issues.
  • You are adept at leading multiple projects / initiatives at once.
  • You are comfortable in an unstructured, ambiguous environment and comfortably handle risk and uncertainty.
  • You are willing to learn and adapt quickly and to offer and accept feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and effective communication of WIIM business plan including strategic focus areas, challenges, interdependencies, and integration opportunities across CEG.
  • Support the multi-year planning process including developing materials for key management updates and program-managing the overall process for WIIM.
  • Lead and support planned / ad hoc management routines and initiatives for WIIM (e.g., leadership planning meetings, QBRs, executive meetings)
  • Lead and support strategic initiatives and projects for FWC leadership and integration opportunities with broader CEG.
  • Evaluate longer term strategy and operating model enhancements through leveraging data and analysis for WIIM & FWC.
  • Lead AI use case development & prioritization for CEG including leading governance, idea screen and business case development in partnership with CETS team.
  • Develop and maintain strong connections with key business partners (e.g., WI strategy & planning, WI Finance, Product Areas) to influence roadmaps and prioritization of initiatives to meet goals.
  • Provide expert guidance to team and create a safe environment for collaboration and the exploration of creative ideas that challenge the status quo.
