About The Position

The Director of Philanthropy at Eastern Washington University will lead fundraising efforts focused on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice (DEIJ) initiatives. This role involves developing and executing fundraising plans, cultivating relationships with major gift donors, and collaborating with university leadership and faculty to support the College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences. This is a two-year project position with the potential for conversion to a permanent role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Demonstrated successful professional advancement and/or fundraising-related experience, preferably in higher education
  • Commitment to the mission of Eastern Washington University and diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends and travel periodically
  • Minimum of three to five years of fundraising experience with major gifts of $10,000 or more
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, listening, and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage a mixed portfolio of donors and prospects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM fundraising software.

  • Volunteer or work experience with a non-profit organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the fundraising plan for DEIJ initiatives at the university.
  • Identify prospects and build relationships with corporations, foundations, and individuals for philanthropic support.
  • Collaborate with the Dean to create and execute the annual fundraising plan for the College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences.
  • Cultivate relationships with major gift donors and manage a portfolio of 120 donors and prospects.
  • Facilitate all phases of the gift cycle, including solicitation and stewardship of donors.
