As the Regional Director, Philadelphia Programs at the Barber National Institute, you will serve as the senior leader responsible for strategic and operational leadership of the Residential Services, Day Programs, Supported Employment, and Life Sharing across the Philadelphia region. This role is central to advancing BNI’s mission by ensuring high-quality, person-centered support while maintaining strong regulatory compliance, fiscal stewardship, and operational excellence. This position is ideal for an experienced human services leader who brings strategic thinking, sound judgment, and a strong commitment to dignity, safety, and inclusion for individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism. You will partner closely with internal stakeholders and external agencies to strengthen and expand services, develop leaders, and respond to evolving community needs. What You’ll Bring: Compassionate, mission-driven leadership grounded in person-centered values Strong regulatory insight and the ability to maintain continuous compliance readiness Strategic decision-making and problem-solving skills across complex service systems Financial acumen, including budget oversight, variance management, and operational planning Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills with internal teams and external partners A collaborative approach that develops leaders, fosters impactful change management approaches, and builds high-performing teams What You’ll Have: Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, psychology, public administration, healthcare administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred), or Twelve to fifteen or more years of progressively responsible leadership experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism in licensed, regulated services or a related human services field Minimum ten years of experience in human services, including significant leadership responsibility within residential services, day programs, supported employment, and/or life sharing Demonstrated experience with regulatory compliance, health and safety oversight, staff supervision, and operational decision-making Deep working knowledge of Pennsylvania regulations including 6100, 2380, 2390, 6400, and 6500 Valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency and insurer driving requirements A Typical Day May Include: Providing guidance to Associate Directors who manage operational aspects of Philadelphia-region programs to ensure safe, high-quality, person-centered support. Maintaining licensure and regulatory readiness through audits, licensing visits, documentation review, and Plans of Correction. Managing regional budgets, monitoring financial trends, and partnering with Finance on forecasts and corrective strategies. Leading and mentoring direct reports and program leaders through development, coaching, and performance support. Communicating timely information across the region using approved platforms to ensure alignment and continuity. Serving as the organizational representative to county, state, and regulatory partners, trade associations, and community collaborators. Leading regional strategic planning and growth efforts aligned with BNI’s mission and organizational priorities. Serving as a brand ambassador for BNI, strengthening relationships and visibility within the Philadelphia market. Ensuring a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across all service lines. Participating in cross-functional initiatives with core administrative teams including Governance, Risk & Compliance, HR, IT, Finance, and Strategic Communications. Providing 24/7 on-call leadership coverage to address urgent operational or safety needs.
