Requirements

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree required; PharmD and Master’s Degree in Business Administration preferred.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience as a Staff Pharmacist in a healthcare facility with demonstrated supervisory skills to lead and motivate teams.
  • Licensing: Active California Pharmacist Registration; California Fire and Life Safety Card within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leader: Select, train, orient, and assign department staff. Develop performance standards, evaluate employee performance, and recommend personnel actions. Maintain effective communication through regular staff meetings.
  • Policy Architect: Establish and uphold department policies, procedures, quality assurance programs, and safety standards, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Budget Maestro: Develop and manage the department's operating budget, ensuring that financial resources are optimized and expenditures stay within limits.
  • Quality Advocate: Ensure the delivery of high-quality pharmacy services for all patient demographics, enhancing care for inpatients, outpatients, and staff.
  • Operational Supervisor: Direct, coordinate, and supervise all pharmacy activities, including purchasing, storing, compounding, and dispensing medications.
  • Clinical Consultant: Collaborate with medical staff on drug utilization and advise on pharmaceutical matters.
  • Project Manager: Develop priorities and monitor the status of special projects to drive continuous improvement in service delivery.
  • Innovator: Stay informed on new drug developments and research findings to enhance pharmacy practice.
  • Facility Steward: Maintain department facilities and equipment to promote safety, efficiency, and comfort for patients and staff.
  • Professional Development Champion: Engage in seminars, workshops, and affiliations to remain informed of the latest industry trends.
