About The Position

The Director of Pharmacy Supply Chain is responsible for leading pharmacy supply chain strategy, vendor relationships, operational performance, and pharmacy benefit optimization across the organization. This leader blends pharmacy knowledge, negotiation capability, implementation experience, and data analytics expertise to drive efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality pharmacy operations. Negotiation and Vendor Management. Lead negotiations with manufacturers, wholesalers, PSAO's, PBM's, specialty pharmacies, and logistics partners. Develop contracts, pricing structures, SLA's, and performance metrics. Manage vendor performance to ensure service excellence, compliance, and cost optimization. Strategic Supply Chain Leadership. Lead planning and execution for end-to-end pharmacy supply chain operations, including retail, specialty, mail-order, and home delivery channels. Develop sourcing, contracting, and operational strategies aligned with organizational goals. Partner with internal Pharmacy, Clinical, PBM, Finance, and Technology teams to optimize supply chain performance. Pharmacy Benefit and PBM Expertise. Apply knowledge of pharmacy benefit design, formulary strategy, network economics, and claims operations. Collaborate with PBM partners to resolve issues, improve workflows, and support benefits performance. Monitor emerging trends and regulatory changes impacting pharmacy benefits. Implementation Leadership. Lead cross-functional pharmacy and supply chain implementations, including process deployments, benefit launches, and vendor transitions. Develop project plans, oversee execution, and ensure operational readiness. Create standard implementation playbooks and best practices. Pharmacy Data Analytics. Use pharmacy data to identify trends, cost drivers, utilization patterns, and operational opportunities. Build analytics dashboards, KPI's, and reporting tools for leadership and stakeholders. Translate data insights into clear operational or strategic recommendations. Problem Solving and Operational Excellence. Diagnose and resolve complex supply chain, fulfillment, pricing, inventory, and benefit issues. Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts. Implement scalable processes and operational standards. Account Management and Stakeholder Engagement. Serve as a strategic advisor to internal partners, health plans, employer groups, and pharmacy partners. Build strong relationships and manage expectations with senior stakeholders. Deliver executive-level presentations, insights, and strategy updates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Degree in Pharmacy, Supply Chain, Business or related field; or equivalent experience
  • 4+ Years Experience in pharmacy operations, supply chain, PBM, pharmaceutical distribution, or related fields
  • Proven negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using pharmacy or supply chain data.
  • Demonstrated success leading projects or implementations.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree
  • PharmD or MBA preferred
  • Experience in PBM, health plan, retail pharmacy, or specialty pharmacy environments preferred.
  • Understanding of pharmacy claims, formulary structure, rebate models, or regulatory requirements preferred.
  • Experience supporting multi-functional teams or budgets preferred.
