Job Description: The Pharmacy Operations Director (POD) will be responsible for planning, organizing and management of pharmacy associated personnel, programs, services. POD is responsible for the overall day to day operations of PP and work closely with the SVP of Pharmacy Services to pan and coordinate strategic initiatives of PP.

  • Strong leadership in performance coaching, team building and cross functional communications
  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree or equivalent OR Bachelors or Masters Pharmacy Administration, MBA, or 5 years in pharmacy administration.
  • Ability to travel independently and to access information from other department
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, bend, kneel, couch, crawl and stoop
  • Ability to operate an automobile for travel to all clinic locations

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred 3 years health system leadership and management experience in manager or assistant director level

Responsibilities

  • Overall operations management across PP and work closely with PIC and other members of PP leadership team.
  • Provide issue resolution, risk mitigation and employee management.
  • Responsible for annual evaluations and counseling and/or disciplinary processes/corrective action.
  • Assures successful realization of goals, implementation and sustainment of projects and initiatives to optimize workflow efficiencies, ensure patient care/satisfaction and regulatory standards are met.
  • Identify training needs and correlate resources for PP teams.
  • Manage and lead the provision of safe, timely, and efficient operations.
  • Effectively plan and allocate staffing requirements to acuity levels.
  • Monitors effectiveness of projects and metrics; makes changes as indicated; collects and trends data.
  • Collaborates with providers/clinics concerning operations and reports up to appropriate TN ONC leadership.
  • Responsible for outside vendor requirements such as building maintenance, supply companies, property management, cleaning service phone & cable services as well as all equipment needs and repairs.
  • Routinely reviews reports and audits for external and internal stakeholders.
  • Supports departmental organization structure through proper hiring, and placement, scheduling of work, assignment of responsibility, and delegation of authority
  • Lead and conduct routine staff and PP leadership meetings.
  • Collaborates with other departments and agencies regarding resources and services for improved patient care and staff development.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned requested and/or required.
