About The Position

Top priorities for the Director of Perioperative Services include: promoting a culture of safety, standardizing operations, refining strategies & goals for key metric areas, advancing the centers of excellence, and strengthening shared governance to achieve one best practice. The Director is responsible for planning and directing the activities of perioperative services, which includes surgery admitting, operating room, and pre and post-anesthesia care. The Director is also responsible for coordinating the clinical operations in the operating room and holds 24-hour, 7-day a week responsibility and accountability for the clinical management of the unit. The Director will direct and supervise functions and activities in the unit; interpret and implement policies, procedures, standards, and regulations to personnel, patients, medical staff, public. Evaluate performance and maintain quality assurance; coordinate with other departments to provide the maximum level of total care for patients. Offer mentoring and development opportunities to staff seeking professional growth. Perform duties in any nursing capacity as needed for patients. Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 4 year / Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required)
  • 5 years experience as a Nursing Director in a surgical hospital environment (Required)
  • 8 years nursing experience in Surgical Services (OR/PACU) (Required)
  • Registered Nurse (RN) with current Georgia license (Required)
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • CNOR certification (Preferred)
