Compass International Holdings is seeking a strategic, sharp, and  Director, HR Business Partner (HRBP) to support our Engineering, Product, Data, and Design organizations  the teams building the technology and digital experiences that power our transformation. This is a high impact, high visibility role serving as the right hand to the Head of HR for Technology, Data, Product & Design. You will partner directly with senior executives to shape organizational strategy, elevate leadership capability, and build a culture of innovation, accountability, and performance. We are looking for someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys working with passionate and highly engaged stakeholders, and brings the confidence and finesse to influence leaders across a complex, fastmoving environment. Experience navigating largescale integrations is essential, as this role will help guide teams through organizational evolution, modernization, and change. This is an onsite role, based 5 days per week in Madison, NJ or New York, NY, supporting leaders who are deeply invested in building the future of Compass/Anywhere technology ecosystem.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years supporting engineering, product, data, or other technical organizations.
  • Proven success as a strategic HRBP in a high growth, tech driven, or highly matrixed environment.
  • Experience supporting or leading large integrations, reorganizations, or enterprise level change.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand technical organizations, product development cycles, and engineering culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguity and partner with passionate, highly engaged stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship building, and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to inform decisions and measure impact.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or HR certification preferred.

  • Familiarity with agile methodologies, product development processes, and technical career frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HRBP to senior Engineering, Product, Data, and Design executives, acting as a trusted advisor and strategic thought partner.
  • Translate business priorities into people strategies that drive innovation, operational excellence, and scalable growth.
  • Lead organizational design efforts, workforce planning, and capability building to support evolving business needs.
  • Influence and guide leaders through sharp insights, strong business acumen, and a deep understanding of technical team dynamics.
  • Coach senior leaders on leadership effectiveness, communication, team health, and change leadership.
  • Strengthen performance enablement practices across technical teams, ensuring clarity in expectations, continuous feedback, and alignment to business outcomes.
  • Partner with Talent Development and HR COEs to support talent reviews, succession planning, and leadership development for technical talent.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to build repeatable and structured hiring practices for engineering, product, design, and data roles.
  • Identify high potential talent and partner with Talent Development to create growth pathways tailored to technical career progression.
  • Use data and analytics to assess talent health, identify skill gaps, and inform strategic workforce decisions.
  • Champion a culture of innovation, inclusion, and accountability across distributed technical teams.
  • Partner with the Employee Listening COE to interpret engagement insights and drive targeted action plans.
  • Support leaders in building psychologically safe, high trust environments where teams can experiment, iterate, and deliver exceptional results.
  • Provide guidance on complex employee relations matters, ensuring fair, consistent, and timely resolution.
  • Partner with HR COEs (Compensation, People Operations, DEI, Legal, etc.) to ensure scalable, compliant, and equitable HR practices.
  • Lead change management efforts for organizational shifts, technology transformations, and largescale integrations.
  • Ensure HR processes and programs are executed with excellence, consistency, and a customer obsessed mindset.
