About The Position

To direct and oversee payroll operations, manage deductions, ensure accurate updates to taxes, insurance, employee benefits, and other deductions, and authorize payroll disbursements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience in payroll, accounting, or finance including two (2) years of supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of payroll systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Skill in the use of personal computers, accounting software, and other relevant software applications.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the operations and staff of the payroll department, establishing policies and procedures to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing.
  • Oversees payroll reconciliation, resolving overpayments and discrepancies, and ensures accurate reporting for quarterly and year-end federal and state filings.
  • Provides strategic oversight of employee deductions, ensuring proper allocation and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitors Social Security and tax issues for non-resident alien employees and ensures accurate reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
  • Authorizes and oversees payroll changes resulting from promotions, demotions, and terminations.
  • Drives process improvements, including system enhancements and workflow optimization, to maximize efficiency, accuracy, and operational excellence.
