About The Position

Provide strategic leadership for the negotiation, implementation, and management of third-party payor contracts for Seattle Children's, Children's University Medical Group, Seattle Children's Primary Care Group, and Seattle Children's Care Network while demonstrating the system values of compassion, excellence, integrity, collaboration, equity, and innovation. Operationalize department strategic plans to increase access for patients while maximizing reimbursement. In collaboration with Payer Operations, respond to and manage payor issues impacting expected contract performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or ten (10) years related job experience in hospital, physician group, or health plan contracting.
  • Minimum seven (7) years experience in hospital, physician group, or health plan contracting, handling complex contract negotiations with accountability for business results.
  • Minimum five (5) years experience in a leadership or management role (whether process/project or people).

Nice To Haves

  • MHA, MBA, JD, or equivalent advanced education.
  • Prior experience with clinically integrated networks; experience with Accountable Care Organization (ACO), shared-risk, and value based contracting.
  • Prior experience in contracting for quaternary pediatric healthcare services.
  • Prior experience in a health plan contracting leadership role, with experience negotiating with large hospital systems.
  • Prior experience managing and resolving complex payor/provider issues.
