About The Position
The Director of Revenue Cycle Management at Baton Rouge General is responsible for the strategic planning, direction, and overall accountability for multiple functional areas within the healthcare revenue cycle. This role requires independent decision-making that significantly impacts the financial and performance objectives of the division and the GHS System. The Director will develop and manage the budget for the department, ensuring alignment with the organization's goals and objectives. This position involves overseeing a team that may include managers, supervisors, and staff employees, with responsibilities for performance reviews, hiring, disciplinary actions, and terminations. The Director will also ensure that the department meets the needs of the age population served, as defined in the department's scope of service. Key responsibilities include planning and setting objectives for the department, maintaining organized operations to ensure efficiency and accuracy, and implementing policies and procedures to achieve departmental goals. The Director will monitor departmental operations, coordinate administrative and technical activities, and utilize staff effectively to maximize productivity. Additionally, the role involves establishing effective working relationships with management and other departments, maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies, and ensuring that staff is adequately trained and competent in their roles. The Director will also manage all aspects of centralized billing, collection, and cash management functions for Baton Rouge General and its associated entities. This includes developing internal control systems and policies to meet cash collection goals, monitoring accounts receivable management indicators, and implementing corrective actions as necessary. The position requires a commitment to corporate compliance, performance improvement, and effective cost management, ensuring that the department operates within budgetary constraints while striving for excellence in service delivery.
