At NorthBay Health, the Director, Outpatient Imaging is responsible for management (e.g., administrative, operational, financial) of Solano Diagnostic Imaging (SDI), which encompasses all outpatient imaging services for NorthBay Healthcare (NorthBay), at multiple sites. Imaging modalities include CT, X-ray, mammography, bone density (Dexa), ultrasound, stereotactic and MRI guided breast biopsies, PET and all diagnostic and treatment modalities. In addition, the Director is responsible for inpatient and outpatient MRI services, as SDI provides MRI services for hospital operations. SDI is a busy outpatient imaging business (performing ~ 70,000 exams each year), and it is important that the business reflect efficient, standardized operations and throughput, timely responsiveness to referring physicians, and exemplary levels of quality and patient satisfaction. The Director is therefore responsible for ensuring optimal operational and clinical performance levels, as well as meeting annual budget (e.g., revenue and expense) goals. In addition, the Director is responsible for supervision of SDI’s manager(s) and staff, including recruitment, training and day-day management, as well as ensuring proactive, consistent coordination with hospital and ambulatory (e.g., NorthBay Medical Group) operations, and Information Technology. The Director is also responsible for financial management, including alignment with SDI’s outsourced revenue cycle management firm (e.g., to effectively and efficiently transmit all patient demographic and insurance information for optimal charge entry, billing and collections), as well as Third Party Contracting (to ensure optimal negotiation of insurance contracts and corresponding payer mix management). Finally, working with the Outpatient Imaging Medical Director and other internal NorthBay resources, the Director is responsible for compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations of federal and state statutes, Medicare Rules of participation, and the accreditation standards governing the provision of Diagnostic Imaging Services.
