About The Position

The Development department is AIUSA’s primary driver of income generation and supports AIUSA’s mission and Amnesty International’s global human rights initiatives. The department’s goal is to ensure long-term financial sustainability by identifying new revenue streams, while also prioritizing retention, engagement, and upgrades of our existing supporter base through extraordinary donor experiences that inspire them to become life-long supporters. The Director, Organizational Data Analytics is a strategic leader who will work in close collaboration with the Senior Director of Data & Analytics and the National Director of Development and Data Strategy to develop and execute AIUSA’s organizational plan for collecting, managing, and analyzing data to improve program effectiveness, boost fundraising, and advance our human rights mission. Reporting to the Senior Director, Data and Analytics, this role works across the organization blending creativity and technical expertise to help guide strategic planning, analysis, and advice, using data effectively to measure impact and identify opportunities to ensure a continuous refinement of AIUSA’s systems, campaigns, initiatives, and programs. This role manages a Data Specialist and Data Analyst. This position handles confidential and sensitive matters and is not covered under the collective bargaining agreement.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of data governance practices and concepts
  • Expertise in data management, statistical analysis, and programming languages like Python or SQL
  • Proficiency with tools such as Tableau or Power BI to present complex data in a clear and accessible way
  • Strong analytical abilities, problem-solving, and the ability to collaborate across diverse teams and communicate complex findings to non-technical staff and external stakeholders
  • Familiarity with advocacy platforms and grassroots mobilization tools
  • Substantial technical knowledge in digital fundraising
  • Experience setting strategic direction, managing resources, and ensuring effective execution of long-term objectives
  • Excellent communicator with strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Excellent team and project management skills
  • Ability to embed inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility (IDEA) best practices into both strategy and operations
  • Experience supporting the professional development of staff members, with a commitment to ensure equitable access and opportunities for underrepresented identities
  • BA/BS and at least 10 years relevant experience or MA/MS and 8 years relevant experience, and/or sufficient relevant work experience
  • 3-5years of direct people management experience, preferred
  • Experience in a data management leadership role, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization
  • Proficiency with digital tools such as email marketing platforms (e.g., Engaging Networks), CMS software(e.g., WordPress), CRM systems, and analytics tools

Responsibilities

  • Creates and leads the organization’s overall data strategy to ensure it directly supports the organization's goals
  • Establish critical data infrastructure to drive efficient, secure, and scalable data solutions
  • Promotes a culture of data literacy and informed decision-making across all departments, with the goal of improving of data practices
  • Educates and trains staff on how to use data effectively and ethically, including setting standards for collecting, evaluating, and verifying new data
  • Leads the organization’s data strategy, ensuring that data is collected and maintained with integrity, and transformed into meaningful insights that drive continuous improvement
  • Oversees protocols and standards for data integrity, data quality, data hygiene, and overall data governance
  • Establishes and tracks metrics to evaluate the effectiveness and reach of the organization's human rights programs, campaigns, and initiatives
  • Supervise consultants and partner with team members to foster a culture of innovation and accountability
  • Other duties as assigned
